I'm the type of guy that just naturally has to make nitpicks as i see them in a series. Here's some funny or odd things about various Flintstone episodes:
1. The Split Personality
Fred accidentally drinks car polish and then is conked on the head with the bottle turning him into a charmer. Why doesn't drinking the car polish seem to have any effect on him?
2. The Babysitters
Fred and Barney are arrested for calling the fire department about a pet stuck in a tree that they thought was a baby?! Why doesn't anybody mention about them breaking and entering into the house?!
3. The Tycoon
After encountering Fred's rich double, Wilma and Betty briefly see the real Fred being chased down the street by his rich double's employees. Fred's rich double wears a fancy suit and Fred is seen running in his old caveman suit. The girls evidently don't notice this or they'd figure out Fred's rich double wasn't really Fred.
4. The Twitch
When Rock Roll loses his voice, he gives his stuff to Fred to go on stage and pretend to be him while lip-synching to his record. Why couldn't Rock Roll go on stage and lip-synch to the record himself?
5. Buffalo Convention
I find the wives at their most irritating in this one. I could never see anything wrong with a husband giving his wife a pet bird as a gift. Wilma even hits Fred over the head with the cage! And the wives are all so neurotic and suspicious they can't trust their husbands to go away to a convention for a measely three days? I think they need therapy.
6. High School Fred
Fred and the high schoolers never seem to do any studying. They just play sports and goof off. Otherwise Fred wouldn't come home worn out every day.
7. Glue for Two
When Barney accidentally throws his bowling ball into the garage, you can clearly see glue spilled all over the ball. Later when Fred trips over it, it's clean but gets glue spilled on it again. Fred picks up the ball with the glue on it and naturally it's stuck on him. But there was also glue underneath the ball when it was on the floor. Why didn't it stick to the floor? The funniest part is when Fred and Barney are in the shower and both run out of it wearing their clothes!
8. Daddies Anonymous
I always wondered if Fred and Barney get arrested for illegal gambling when the charge should really be child endangerment. Leaving babies in their strollers completely unattended makes every father in bedrock an imbecile.
9. Little Bamm-Bamm
As an adult, I'm bothered by the fact that Barney and Betty never even seem to have any defense in court. Their lawyer does absolutely nothing! He doesn't fight or cross examine somebody once! If you're going to fight for child custody you need some type of defense! Pure kiddie level writing.
10. Moonlight and Maintenance
I was always bothered by the bit where Fred as himself and disguised in front of Mr Slate, poses as himself and the janitor running in and out of the room to get each other and making the leak under the sink worse. The bit I refer to is when Fred runs in as himself, fixes the leak, and then comes out from under the sink with his janitor disguise on! I suspect a major script flub there!
If you care to add any other nitpicks feel free. If you think some of my nitpicks are nutty, you can also let me know.
