This is probably easy to answer - but I can't seem to work out which of the options is the most obvious.

When Maddie is shown what life would be like, when is it done?

Is it being shown as what would've happened if she'd never gone back to Blue Moon? If she'd sold it along with her other companies? Or if she walked out and never returned at present time?

They said "imagine that the last two years never happened" - does that mean they're therefore back two years prior, and it didn't happen? If so, then David's comments about Maddie on his weddding night don't really make sense.

And as for the car crash scene - is that supposed to be what would've happened if she'd not been abducted by the angel?

Very confusing, but i'm sure there's a simple answer.

Thank you.

I think that we are meant to suppose that the 'last two years' begins during the Pilot, when they met and she wants to shut down the agency. So they did meet, but she really did shut down the agency. Then we are led to believe that in this other supposed life, they met once more when she sold her house to David.

Then the crash scene seems to be a mixture of both Maddie's from both worlds; the Maddie who closed down the agency, has no friends or money and wants to end her life and she's being watched by 'our' Maddie who kept the agency open. I suppose by this time, they should have become one Maddie, been as Albert has clicked his fingers and set the world back in motion at this point, but I think this way if far more effective.

Right ,i have a go .
Well you have to imagine when she went up to the office to close it down (remember the pilot episode) well you have to imagine thats exactly what happened , and that David and Maddies only meeting would have been when she shut the place down .In regards to the other time he meets her (when he buys her house) well that part is made up . In regards to the car crash scene ,when we see this it`s supposed to be the new present , the Maddie whos driving the car is the Maddie that closed the agency 2 years prior .Have you ever seen A Christmas Carol , well it`s a bit like that in some ways. Hope i made some sense . If any one alse can explain it better than feel free to join in.
