OK, I got to ask this ONE time

What is the fascination with original airings ?? I really want to know.
Other than the episode being complete and uncut

why is it so important that everything you ask for has to be the "original airing" from NBC, CBS, ABC etc etc ?

What would you rather have? - a 4th generation tape that has the NBC commercials in tact or a nice clean uncut XP recorded onto DVD copy of that same episode but aired on XYZ Network just yesterday?

Well I like Original Airings because of seeing old promos for other shows. Now that's not the case with this fresh prince ep I'm looking for since it's from 95. It's because stupid N@N cut out a very funny season and I don't think this season of Fresh Prince will be on DVD until 2008 maybe 2009

id like quality over original

case in point, i just did up a set of a rare sitcom (wont name it yet)
from the original airings, quality was like 7.5

BUT then i got a chance to get them all on vhs at 8.5
the better set is syndicated cuts, so its missing 1-2 mins of footage
BUT the quality is better so ill go with that

BUT I WILL SAY, i do love to see the old commercials on the old sets
