I believe I saw the following episode on Father Knows Best, but couldn't find it in the episode lists. Can anyone help out?

In the episode I remember, the Andersons receive a set of books filled with pictures, and when any of them look at a picture and wish for it, it soon gets delivered to their door, for free. I forget the outcome of the story, except there's a lot of discussion about how this is happening.

Or was this a different sitcom? Hope someone can help out.

BTW, BIG THANKS to the webmasters who have put up so much great info!

Well, this is what happens when you go to see how far back the threads go...over 17 years!

This episode is "Mr. Beal Meets His Match", S4 E11.

and its already almost been two years since you posted. FTB is not very popular I guess. I like it though and would be willing to discuss it at least seasons 1 - 4 as I have not been able to get 5 and 6 due to ridiculus price.

It's an interesting episode and not typical of sitcoms in general.

A general outline of it has Betty writing a theme for her college class, which involves an interloper/"salesman" who sells a "scary" set of books to the Andersons. This interloper is very symbolic and is certainly open to further discussion.

Written by Roswell Rogers and directed by Peter Tewksbury.

Has anyone seen the episode where the whole family gathers around a short wave radio hearing a family in distress on a boat miles away? It stands out as one of the better shows as the Andersons worry over the family in trouble in a storm and try to help.

Yes, I just watched this one. It is one of the better ones. Betty was pretty darn nice too.

This one is what I'd call a classic episode. Kind of like In the Soup for Beaver.
