I currently have 3 VCR's in my home. I use one for the Internet and the other two for my tv collecting hobby. But I am starting to see that most people don;t even have VCR's in their home anymore. So who has VCR's in their home and who just has all DVD players?

I have a duel deck Vcr in my home.

I still have one. It's used mostly to transfer stuff to DVD.

I have a VCR in my room-- I use it for the collection of tapes I built up before I finally went modern and got a DVD player. So I use both :)

I have a dual deck in my bedroom, a dual deck in my living room and my daughters' vcr player finally gave out after five years (they don't make 'em like they use to); but they have a dvd only player in their room. I have the dual players because I had the camcorder where you had to put the tape cassette in the adaptor and then play it in a vcr when you want to watch the tape. We have a new camcorder but I don't know how to work it. I still like to use the old one. I am too busy to learn how the new one works.
BTW, does anyone know if you can have those "cartridges" from the old camcorders transferred to a DVD disc?

I've got a dvd/vcr combo in the living room, and a vcr in each of the bedrooms. One of the VCRs is about 100 years old though, and I wouldn't trust it to tape something I care about. I've just been too lazy to pitch it.

I still have the 13" TV/VCR combo that I bought for my college dorm room back in 1999. Call me cheap, but I figure that as long as it works, I'm keeping it.

We have a DVD player too.

I have a dvd recorder/vcr combo and an older vcr in my bedroom. Still have stuff on vhs that I like to transfer to dvd and also still FINDING stuff on vhs that I transfer. So I'm not getting rid of the vcr yet-lol

I have two VCRs in my apartment, even if I only have one TV. They are both DVD/VHS combos, but one of the DVD players does not work, but I am keeping it for the VHS (if I have to dub or something) because the recording on the VHS is superb.

Anyway, I plan on sometime in the future getting a TiVo. A friend of mine has one, and he has told me all the cool things it can do, so I am sold on one! I would still keep my VCRs to watch my DVDs and my VHSs in my TV collection.

we have as many VCR's as DVD players. and as many DVD players as TVs. and thats one in like every room. :lol: i think i might be the only person that doesn't like DVD.

You can make the transfer, and I believe that DVD recorders can accomplish this...both in a computer and the stand-alone models that're hooked up to TV sets. If not, a local video store (or other similar company) can do it for you.

I do. The VCR was a Christmas present to my mom in 1989, and in 2003 a DVD player was bought and hooked up to the living room TV.

I still have VCRS. I am keeping them until they conk out. Then I will have to figure out the DVD's or are they DVRs. I am not in tune with technology.

I watch tapes on my VCR nearly every day (I have a HUGE library of video tapes). I only watch DVDs about once a week (I have a much smaller library
of DVDs but still quite a few); my only DVD player is on my computer. I still

I have both, a VCR and a DVD player. I don't have any way to record on DVD, so I still use the VCR to record. The DVD player was a gift from my brother when I graudated HS.

I have taped over 400 movies from LaserDisc to VHS tapes. So I have a pretty big collection. I must be a nut! :lol:

LOL, all of our 4 VCR's are in the attic right beside our laserdisc and Select-A-Vision players. LOL

The DVD players are going to be there soon as well. Blu-ray's release is near.

I have a VCR, but it is in a box in the attic, so I don't know if that counts. With TiVo and a DVD recorder, the old VCR juts isn't needed anymore. I do keep it around beacuse you never know when you may need it.

I will not be getting a Blu Ray player. After the fiasco Sony had with their CDs putting spyware on the computers, the Blu Ray is supposed to be just as bad with copy protection features.

I have one VHS dual deck, and 2 regular VCRs. I have a VCR/DVD combo but it only records on VHS. I can tape non-protected DVDs onto VHS with it though. I need to get updated.

I refuse to timer record onto DVD because I simply will not tolerate commercials on a DVD. So I'll have VCRs until I can't find anymore that work.

There's still 3 at my house. 2 of them are tv/vcr combo. I still watch old tapes a lot and record stuff off of tv sometimes.

Not a DVD+/- R. I don't use RW nor do I have a computer program.

VCR is just easier for me.

I think everyone still has at least one vcr in their homes. It's the easiest way to tape television programs and besides, it's the only way to watch old shows/movies you've taped. I have a lot of rare material on tape, or things that aren't yet available on dvd, so I can't do without a vcr.

There are 4 VCR's in our house, one of them is a DVD/VCR combo. I hardly watch anything on mine, I only use it to record my TV shows.
