(Studio Briefing) Britain's media watchdog Ofcom censured the BBC Monday for failing to use a time-delay in its broadcast of the Live8 rock concert in London last July. The result was that the f-word and other expletives by Madonna, Snoop Dogg, and Green Day were broadcast during the early evening hours. Ofcom also criticized the BBC for not assigning a senior editorial figure to monitor the output and for not apologizing during the broadcast. The BBC said that it regretted the incidents and would consider using a time delay for such concerts in the future.
