View Full Version : I see dead people...
Janice 02-22-2006, 12:25 PM Not really, but...
This site is interesting. You can look up the birth and death dates of people. It goes back to the 1800s for the dates of birth.
To narrow your search, hit Advanced Search and put the deceased's State in, or City, if you know it. Just using a last name works too.
I found my grandmother's information. She died in 1934, when my father was 11. I found a few people there from my past.

James"Thunder"Early 02-22-2006, 12:31 PM I use that one alot for my genealogical research
Hollow 02-22-2006, 02:44 PM that's the only genealogy site i've seen that has records for my mom's side. very interesting indeed.
swedeace 02-22-2006, 04:50 PM That's, indeed, a great genealogical website! I just wish it let me search for other countries, too. I want to do some genealogical research on my Mexican maternal side. Not very much ancestry knowledge from my mom's side, but I can always start with surnames.
Courtnee 02-22-2006, 06:37 PM wow...thanks for the link. i just found some people with my last name in CA!! i was born there but i didn't know we had "kin folk" there lol
dawsongirl 02-23-2006, 01:18 AM :( My grandfather isn't on there. His brother is though.

That's strange Cathy. Everyone I looked for was there. You definitely have his correct place of death (the state)?
James"Thunder"Early 02-23-2006, 01:24 AM :( My grandfather isn't on there. His brother is though. Not everything is listed, depends on the records that have been databased. The SSI Death Index usually has most people, but not all.

Yep. Died here in town in 1965.
Mr. Television 02-23-2006, 01:30 AM I just put my Mom's name in there and she's listed.
I found all my Grandparents in there too.
dawsongirl 02-23-2006, 01:30 AM What do they mean by Last Benefit? Where they're buried?
James"Thunder"Early 02-23-2006, 01:43 AM What do they mean by Last Benefit? Where they're buried?Where they recieved their last Social Security payment

Ohhhh...okay. Could be why my grandfather isn't in there...he wasn't old enough to receive SS checks.
So weird. It says the issuing state for my other grandfather is Missouri. He lived in Iowa since 1955.

I just found my Uncle in there and he was only 52.
James"Thunder"Early 02-23-2006, 02:08 AM I just found my Uncle in there and he was only 52.I believe also list anyone with a social security number, even if they didn't get benefits
dawsongirl 02-23-2006, 02:28 AM I found him! He was 41. But they didn't list an issuing state (obviously) so that's why I didn't find him the first time around.
I found some people that just have to be related to me, because they were from the same tiny town all the rest of my relatives were from.
Czas na Zywiec 02-23-2006, 03:30 AM I wish they had a site like that for international places. None of my relatives died here in the States.
Dude111 11-03-2025, 12:18 AM I tried searching the Archives and it says they start in 2020!!
What good is that??? :D
