Well...most recently stayed in SB until two in the morning, but I had called my mom four hours before that and told her I had arrived back home and was heading to a friend's house. I don't usually do things behind my parent's back, but my mom's an overprotective freak and I don't get to do most of the things I would if I was living in the dorms, so I bend the truth a weeeee bit to calm her down. =)

I dunno. If I did, it was pretty insignificant.

I'm such a goody goody.

drank at thirteen and sixteen. suicide attempt at fourteen.. smoked last month. probably some other stuff i can't think of.

there are a few things that my mom reprimanded my brother and me for doing (ie when he purposely choked me when we were nine or ten years old) but kept secret from my dad and told us not to tell him in fear of what he would do to us because he has such a horrible temper.

K, that reminds me of something. I skipped class a lot in college behind my parents' backs. I'd go up there like I was gonna go to class, but then I'd hide in the library all day or something. I figured they would have killed me. No one found out until after I started taking Paxil and I fessed up to the doctor.

Nothing major really. Mostly I'd go to the corner store when shouldn't have. I'd get grounded and go anyway.

Smoking pot. Only a few joints though. And one time with a kind of 'water pipe', that was cool! But anyway, they would freak out over it if they'd find out.

Just the usual things-- telling them I was sleeping over a friend's house while I was really sleeping over my boyfriend's, smoking cigs, drinking, smoking a little pot. I don't do those things anymore (well, I do drink a bit, but now I'm actually legal) so I'm not much of a bad ass.

Mostly sneaking to a lot of places I shouldn't have, the party store to buy pop and candy, K-Mart, dunkin donuts etc. I also used to go play in the woods and build forts with my friends, sometimes we wandered pretty far out. We had all been told numerous times to stay close to home but we never listened. One time some of the kids and I took a couple matchbooks from our parents and started a fire out there. It started getting pretty big so one of the boys stomped on it and his shoe caught on fire. We managed to get the thing out. To this day I don't know why we did it. It scares me to think what could have happened had we not been able to put it out and my friend could have been seriously hurt. The worst thing I ever did was watch some X-rated movies that belonged to my friends dad when I was 12 or 13. We also tried some of his dads chewing tobacco around that time. I never smoked pot or had sex though until I was out of my moms house and on my own so I really wouldn't consider that as going behind her back since I was an adult at the time.

You consider that worse than making a fire in the woods?

No, Looking at it now I would say that the fire was a lot worse but I think my mom would have punished me a lot worse had she found out about the movies than if she had found out about the fire. I know this sounds stupid but at the time we really didn't think that the fire was any big deal especially since it didn't cause any real damage. It wasn't till I got older that I realized how careless we were. Porno movies were a big deal and at the time we knew it was wrong to watch them, especially since we all came from Catholic families with parents who never wanted to discuss sex. Overall, I don't think any of us were really bad kids, we just had short attention spans and were bored most of the time.

Oh, plenty of things. I'm a good girl, but wooo...some things I did when I was a kid...

- Found my dad's stash of Playboys as well as a Playboy video. (I was 9)
- Watched a X-rated movie, Debbie Does Dallas, at a friend's house. (I was 11 almost 12)
- Smoked for a little while when I was 14 and 17. Never became a habit.
- Started experimenting with alcohol at 13. (Remember, I'm almost 21)
- This wasn't behind my parents' back, but rather behind dorm counselors' backs. One time when I was 16, I was visiting some people in the dorms and I was feeling really crappy...coming down with a cold and all that fun stuff. The dorm counselor said she would take me home, but my mom had to be home. I started to be a latchkey kid at 9, so I already had seven years of being a latchkey kid by that point. When they found out my mom wasn't home, they wouldn't take me home. So when nobody was in the dorm, I gathered up my things and embarked out on a 45-minute walk to get home. :D
- I did something similar as above at 17, but it involved hailing a taxi home and it was 10 at night.

There are a lot of smaller things...these are some of the major things I did over time. My mom knows I drink and she doesn't care, but my dad doesn't know. He also doesn't know I started experimenting with alcohol at 13. In some cases, it's just better if he doesn't know.

Some things I can't believe I did with friends but without parents. One time when I was 13 and a friend was 14, we drove 2 hours to this town hosting the state fair by ourselves. Well, I didn't drive...she did. She had her license. That was her first major car trip where she was the sole driver. When I was 15 and she was 16 [again, by ourselves], we drove to another town 1 1/2 hours away for a day of shopping and almost got stranded in that town. We had a scary incident where the car wouldn't start, but we got it resolved.
