I must admit that I bought the limit of 10 of Playo 50 packs online. ($60 after tax + free ship) I am hoping that these are worthwhile...there is no mention of recording speed. I will stick with quality brand discs for trades....so don't hide from me because of a fear of these discs...for me the price is right for quick recordings and data i.e. unedited mpegs that sit on my computer hard drive.

rather than buy that junk

how about a 250 gig hard drive for your computer for like $30 after rebate

frys, circiut city and compusa have all had this deal in the last couple weeks

i just got a couple 200 gig extrenals for $19 after rebate from frys online hookup, outcast.com

you will regret the chepo playos

note i said in the last couple weeks

not today

there are two nice deals

300 gig at frys, $70 after rebates

and with a little effort

250 gig western digital at circuit city

$150 minus two $40 rebates

buy it and then price match--easy one--to office max, at $119, so get $33 off--110% of the difference

and then send the two circuit city rebates in to make it a net price of

150 minus 33 minus 80

about $37 plus tax

theres stuff like this all the time

all the major players have online adds for the retail stores, so just compare

they all claim to price match

bring a printed add in for an easy price match

Starting this Sat. at BJ's they will have fuji 50 pack DVD-R on sale for $9.99. This is a much better deal even though it cost more. Fuji is a quality brand that has always copied good for me. If you have a BJ's near you but are not a member you can still get them for 15% over the price, so $11.50 per 50 pack. Those generic DVD's will give you or the person you trade them to problems, you can bet on that.

Fuji and JVC is what I use. JVC I get, 50 for $17.99 at one of those lot type stores. I used Sony, but my Lite-on burner was messing them up. Come to think of it, I need a new Lite-On for my computer. any deals on those *wink*? I'm not a fan of mail-in-rebates. Took me like 6 months to get a rebate back from my computer monitor.

And since I like making pretty menus, I have to see what they look on my tv first, so I look for deals on RW's to mess around with (been using Maxell, I like them). I need a few 250gb hard drives myself.

This is a great suggestion but I would have to go with external drives as all of my internal cables are being used (I suppose I could upgrade the one 160 to a 250 gig) ...but if I were to find a deal like that I would buy the externals. Everyone PLEASE start sharing your finds more often! (maybe even a sticky thread?)

I will live with my junk.

Have you already added a PCI card? I have two hard drives, a DVD reader & DVD burner hooked up to the mother board. Then I have two more hard drives hooked up via PCI card.

you can get an external usb drive case for under $20, much of the time

compusa runs them about every other week

also doa google for them, newegg.com is another good source with free ship and sales allt he time--even daily specials

you need to dig a little

gett he 300 gig drive and an extrnal case for less than $80 total

now thats a decent deal

a deal here and there is fine

but then if its too much, its turns into a flea market, and the real theme, video trades, becomes a bit lost

there are nemerous deal sites out there , google is your pathway, young grasshopper
