View Full Version : My Friend told it's always FLATTERING when she gets a compliment no matter who
TVFactFan 02-17-2006, 09:03 PM it comes from-lol Now who agrees with this? She said even if a female who likes woman compliments her it's flattering. Someone help with this but I thought it was only flattering when you receive a compliment from someone you are attracted to? Anyone agree? Like for you females out there who are between 20 and 30, would you be flattered if you were complimented by a 48 year old man?-lol
James"Thunder"Early 02-17-2006, 09:12 PM I know a woman who is a bus driver who likes compliments from anybody, even bums, so I guess it depends on the woman.

I;m only flattered if the compliment comes from a young pretty woman.

well i'm flattered by anyone who's under the age of 30 (family members can be any age though). if a 50 year old women said "LOLZ UR HOT" to me, i would be like..o_O

ha, that's not a compliment...that's flirting. It's kind of different...
Chelsea 02-17-2006, 11:06 PM There's compliments
And then there's compliments.
EmoJoe 02-17-2006, 11:12 PM ha, that's not a compliment...that's flirting. It's kind of different...
yeah. if it was a compliment, then ok, but if it was flirting, then...yuck
TVFactFan 02-17-2006, 11:49 PM ha, that's not a compliment...that's flirting. It's kind of different...
But she is still pointing out that I'm handsome so wouldn't that still be a compliment?-lol I thought Flirting would be if she said-"hi with a Big Smile"
James"Thunder"Early 02-18-2006, 12:06 AM But she is still pointing out that I'm handsome so wouldn't that still be a compliment?-lol I thought Flirting would be if she said-"hi with a Big Smile"I think it would be both flirting and a compliment
Janice 02-18-2006, 12:46 AM Flirting and giving a compliment are not mutually exclusive. A 60-year old woman can tell a 30-year old man that she likes his shirt or that he's handsome. It doesn't mean she's flirting.
I think a compliment is always nice to hear, regardless of who says it. You can never go wrong with kindness.
lockdown06 02-18-2006, 01:59 AM I like compliments from anyone.
Now if a guy says he likes my truck or my boots its OK. He says he likes anything else he may not talk for another 6-8 weeks.
Mijada 02-18-2006, 06:57 AM I think a compliment is always nice to hear, regardless of who says it. You can never go wrong with kindness.
Your right. I've had guys who weren't all that attractive in my eyes give me compliments and I still appreciate it. I've also given compliments to people who are much more attractive than me. It's always nice to hear, better than someone putting you down all the time.
Michael [hXc] 02-18-2006, 09:11 AM well i'm flattered by anyone who's under the age of 30 (family members can be any age though). if a 50 year old women said "LOLZ UR HOT" to me, i would be like..o_O
omg that happens to my friend all the time. at the mall older guys usually talk to her and think she is older, and she thinks it is sick and she isn't complimented and she says 'omg back off you pervert!'
but i agree, i feel flattered by anyone as long as it's not flirting, which i only feel flattered by women/girls under 25.

Yep, I agree. It doesn't bother me at all if someone is unattractive and wants to give me a compliment, it's still nice. Just because someone might say that you have nice hair, doesn't mean you have to go out with them later or something.

I agree with your friend. If she is in her 20's no man over 50 should be saying anything to her. a 46 year old woman who works in my building told me I had nice eyes and I wanted to VOMIT_lol
Michael [hXc] 02-18-2006, 01:10 PM yeah, if any guy over 20 flirts with her, she is extra careful and thinks he is a sick pervert.

Well how old is your friend and what is the age range of the older men who compliments her?
Brian Damage 02-18-2006, 01:14 PM Compliments don't both me at all, no matter who it is from.
Michael [hXc] 02-18-2006, 03:28 PM Well how old is your friend and what is the age range of the older men who compliments her?
she's 14 and she is hit on by 20 year old guys at the mall sometimes. she could easily pass as being much older.
Polniaczek033 02-18-2006, 03:57 PM compliments are nice from anyone.
i compliment people i don't know.
i'm not being a creep, i'm being polite.
TVFactFan 02-18-2006, 05:04 PM she's 14 and she is hit on by 20 year old guys at the mall sometimes. she could easily pass as being much older.
Ok, i thought when u said older you meant old enough to be her dad-lol
Ireneparalegal 02-18-2006, 06:23 PM There's compliments
And then there's compliments.
Agree. And who is to say that a woman with no teeth can't see a handsome man or a beautiful woman and give a compliment? She can see just as well as a "beautiful person". It's not always a come-on. Some people like to point out your beauty or how you carry yourself, doesn't mean they want to go out with you.
