View Full Version : Does "Empty Nest" still air? LouisBarcia 01-01-2001, 01:35 PM Does "Empty Nest" still air?? Brett Ferino 01-01-2001, 02:52 PM Currently there are no stations in this country airing re-runs of Empty Nest. Once it is picked up by a syndicator or a cable channel we will let you know... ///////////////////////////////// See ya - Brett Ferino ///////////////////////////////// Tia: You do not own me. Lisa: I am renting you for 21 years. TJ 01-05-2001, 07:53 PM There were atleast 10-15 stations airing it as recently as 6 months ago - maybe the syndicators decided to pull it out of all markets. I don't understand why it's not shown on WGN or Lifetime.. Brett Ferino 01-07-2001, 12:28 AM It should be on Lifetime. ThomasE 01-07-2001, 01:50 AM WGN aired it until it was replaced with Hawaii 5-0. VORS27 02-05-2001, 01:51 PM Lifetime and WGN suck. They won't even leave the credits alone and they were rude about it! Brett Ferino 04-27-2001, 04:59 PM I THINK WE SHOULD ASKED EM TO AIR IT THIS FALL ON LIFETIME Drew 07-15-2001, 01:36 AM I think Lifetime should rerun it to. Or how about Oddyssey. plappy 08-15-2001, 01:36 PM There is this one rumor that the show will air on Oxygen in 2004. Drew 08-15-2001, 11:53 PM thats so far away. ------------------ Designing Women JULIA~"...And that, Marjorie --- just so you will know --- and your children will someday know --- is the night the lights went out in Georgia! All in the Family EDITH to ARCHIE~"Im not sure who married the meathead, Gloria or me." the Golden Girls SOPHIA~"Silly Rabbi, Trix are for kids." Moondance 08-22-2001, 12:23 PM It used to play of FOX here!! But not anymore! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif Feenster Girl ------------------ God Looked down upon the rose and said no fair a flower grows. Then he searched the human race and named my Shirley, Angel Face! TV Guy 08-23-2001, 09:09 PM I think I read that Buena Vista/Disney (the syndicator) is letting their agreements with local stations lapse so they can sell it to a cable channel in the future. Cable stations pay more for a show if they have exclusive rights than if they have to share rights with local stations. RWCTV 09-30-2001, 05:34 PM Please, with Micheal Eisner running the Disney company, he will not put it back on the air until someone will pay some major bucks for it. LIFETIME must pay a fortune for the exclusive rights to air Golden Girls for so many years. Miss Golden 06-06-2003, 12:32 PM Lifetime could easily pick it up, because they still own the Nurses episodes which they bought with Golden Girls. Since all 3 shows were basically owned by the same company they could easily show it. The problem is the concept is not necessarily geared for women as Harry and Charlie were usually the central characters. jayman75 08-07-2003, 09:18 PM Lifetime owns Nurses? Hmmm... news to me. Miss Golden 05-05-2004, 12:36 AM Originally posted by jayman75 Lifetime owns Nurses? Hmmm... news to me. Lifetime showed repeats of Nurses in 1996. They still own the episodes. However it only ran from 1991-1994, so I doubt we will ever see it again considering that no cable outlet shows repeats of Murphy Brown which ran from 1988-1998. mattyc 06-12-2004, 05:40 AM Just out of interest, Empty Nest airs here in Australia at 1.40am on free-to-air TV. hughpuppies 06-12-2004, 04:45 PM I got this from TBS TV Station. can be found here. http://tbs.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/tbs.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=saExHKdh&p_lva=&p_faqid=20&p_created=942339331&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTMmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD11cGxvYWRpbmcgdHYgc2hvd3MgdG8gaW50ZXJuZXQmcF9zZWFyY2hfdHlwZT0zJnBfY2F0X2x2bDE9fmFueX4mcF9jYXRfbHZsMj1_YW55fiZwX3NvcnRfYnk9ZGZsdCZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li= Question I was wondering how I can go about purchasing videos of episodes from my favorite series that I watch on the Superstation every day. Can you help? At 11/11/99 8:20 AM we wrote - Thanks for your email. Unfortunately TBS Superstation does not own the rights to sell any series episodes on video, we only have rights to broadcast. You can try an internet search for more information on purchasing episodes of your favorite series. Also try calling these major video retailers, they do offer some episodes for some series on video. TimeLife Video 800/545-2465 Coumbia House 800/638-2922 Thanks for watching the Superstation!! There you go most tv stations do not own the tv show they broadcast only owns the right to air them. James28 12-10-2009, 10:27 PM Empty Nest has not been reran on cable or a local station since 2000. Its run on syndication began in 1993. It had previously been reran on TBS and WGN and there has been no consideration of a DVD release. TMC 03-16-2017, 03:59 AM Empty Nest has not been reran on cable or a local station since 2000. Empty Nest (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406114419/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3119523-empty-nest/?view=getnewpost) was at the end of the day, arguably never more then a mediocre at best, time slot filler show that happened to pick up the Golden Girls' audience on Saturday nights. storrs19 03-16-2017, 04:44 PM I enjoyed the first three seasons or so but it got to where it was all "Carol! Carol! Carol!" which got old fast. After the character of Barbara left it really went downhill TV Tan 03-20-2017, 11:01 AM I enjoyed the first three seasons or so but it got to where it was all "Carol! Carol! Carol!" which got old fast. After the character of Barbara left it really went downhill I felt this way too back when it first aired. But now in syndication, Carol, Carol Carol is funny as heck to me. To the main thread title, the show airs on Over the Air Sub station Laff. That poster who said that Empty Nest wasn't "good enough" to be on a channel, and had "no consideration" for a DVD release is so full of themselves. Anyway, it's a great show I think. It isn't "time filler", it's even better than "The Golden Girls" I'd say. It never went downhill for me. Sure, some episodes are clunkers, but all shows are like that. That poster who said "no consideration" for a DVD release obviously doesn't like the show, and has never watched it because he/she never liked it and never watched it. storrs19 03-21-2017, 02:47 PM While I enjoyed the first four seasons the most, I would like to see the entire series released on DVD as it's much better than the garbage on today. Park Overall always cracked me up on here. I hope Laff TV continues to air this show as I don't think it will ever see a legitimate DVD release. biffbronson 10-10-2017, 10:27 PM I'm just now receiving Laff, and really enjoying Empty Nest! It's been so long since I've seen this series. Dinah is pretty hot! |
