Aughh UM showed that case today....of course, now I want to lock myself up in my dorm room and not go anywhere by myself for a few hours....geez I hate kidnapping cases.....always remind me of Laura Smither and Jessica Cain, two young ladies who were abducted in 1997 in the Galveston County, Texas area (south of Houston). Laura Smither's body was found in a retention pond in Pasadena, TX about a month later and Jessica Cain has never been found...very sad and disturbing. :( Angela Hammond was also 20 when she was abducted (same age as me). Always reminds me to be extra careful, especially around a college campus.

I live in Williamsburg and there have been a lot of rapes reported at William & Mary College recently. These stories remind you that even in small, "safe" towns, you have to be careful. I've walked around Colonial Williamsburg lots of times at night from the time I was 17 to now. I would never expect to encounter a problem... I definitely won't keep taking my safety for granted anymore.

I'm always glued to that story because of imaginging hearing my girlfriend grabbed off a phone and trying to race to her aid. Only to get there in time and have the car give out!! Man. Stack said 1991, so the case is now in it's 15th year and I've never seen an update on them even finding her body. Wow, she would be 35 now. :(
