View Full Version : Dumb Olympic Events That Need to Go!
Jenya 02-15-2006, 01:49 PM There are a few Olympic events in my opinion that are boring, and need to be dropped.
Curling:
I'm not Interested in watching sombody sweeping the ice with a broom to see a cheap version of shuffleboard.
Beach Volleyball (Summer Games):
Any point to why this is an Olympic event? Okay, the Bikinis are nice for the guys, but come on!
This event needs to go!
Any other event that you know of that should be dropped?
MsOrange 02-15-2006, 01:52 PM i completely 100% diagree w/ you ont he beach volleyball.. i love to watch it!

Curling is interesting to watch, but to consider it a sport? an olympic event? NO! it may have been at one point (way way way back in the dayz when there wasn't much as far as sports) but I can't believe people practice, practice and practice this to win a gold medal. This is an insult to real sports!
Chad Michael Murray 02-15-2006, 02:00 PM Yeah, I don't see why volleyball should go. It's a competitive sport and it definitely takes talent to be at an Olympic level.

I got addicted to it in the last summer olympics.. I loved watching the US team.

There is a volleyball event. But beach volleyball?
Come on!
~LadyJess~ 02-15-2006, 02:09 PM I think curling's kind of cool. Not that it is a diehard sport or anything but the curlers definetely amuse with with all their screaming of, "Ahhh! Harder!" Way to take a shuffleboard like game and make it sexual, imo.

Come on!
Hey, the prospect of BEACH volleyball is the only thing that would convince me to tune in anyway!

How about a thong bikini contest. That would make a good Olympic event, right? ;)

Well they might as well have a "Nude Chick" contest like they have on TQS TV here in Montreal every spring.
Only difference is, NBC might edited all the content out for their primetime coverage. :(
;)
Zebra 3 02-15-2006, 02:58 PM Equestrian shouldn't be an Olympic sport unless everyone's wearing a bikinis!
Brent88 02-15-2006, 11:53 PM Curling is completely lame. I watched a little on USA Network about 4:30am yesterday morning and it was so boring.

Czas na Zywiec 02-16-2006, 12:31 AM I agree with you, Jess. I used to not see the big deal in curling, but then I watched it in Salt Lake and got so hooked. I was wondering what they hell they were using brooms for lol, and just kept watching. Now I can't wait until they start showing the events on NBC. :D
