View Full Version : Our Amazing Interview with Jay Daniel--Now Posted!!! diana2001 02-15-2006, 12:44 AM We are very proud of this interview, which is pretty in-depth and candid. Enjoy! http://moonlighting21.com laura a 02-15-2006, 06:09 AM Great interview .Jay has always been one for being very candid .It`s nice to see Bruce and Cybills relationship from someone elses point of view ,someone that was around them all the time.I `ve always liked Jays honersty and he is a wizz with times , dates and figures.Shame he didn`t explain why alot of the Atomic... commentary was dubbed over and cut out . I`m also really jealous ,Jay makes a comment on how great it was to watch Bruce and Cybill watching themselves on- screen and their reactions to one another .WHY couldn`t have we seen that . Quick note to Lions Gate , for the season 4 dvds it would the icing on the cake to have a visual and audio commentary with Bruce and Cybill! Once again though i would like to say thanks to Jay for a wonderfull interview.ALL WE NEED NOW IS ONE FROM BRUCE!!!!! MulberryGal 02-15-2006, 07:47 AM What a great interview!! It was especially good to hear the behind the scenes on the DVD interview with Bruce and Cybill. Thanks for posting!! Mul kismet 02-15-2006, 11:52 AM That's one of the best interviews I have ever read. I sure learned lots of stuff. Thanks. kismet 02-15-2006, 02:22 PM The interview has me thinking. Where was the "let's put the blame on Cybill" theme during Jay's interview? The more I listen and the more I read, the more the blame gets spread around. It seems to me that Glenn deserves a major part of the blame. Genius that he is, he also was a major cause of discord. If you have no script, you have no show. If the script arrives late, you have actors and a crew that are in big trouble. The actors stress out because they are ones that have to learn the lines in such a small amount of time. As I understand it, Bruce learned his lines quicker than Cybill, so Cybill was under more pressure than he was. The stressed-out actors then take it out on each other (and the crew as well). According to Robert Butler and others, Glenn seemed to thrive on producing great shows under extreme pressure. What if you don't have that kind of personality? Then, are YOU the bad guy? I'm not saying that Cybill was an angel through all of this. I'm just saying that the constant "let's put all the blame on Cybill" routine is not the whole truth. I think most of us already knew this, but it's great to see it come out in the open. diana2001 02-15-2006, 03:19 PM Thanks for all your comments. I will try to answer some of them in this post. "Shame he didn`t explain why alot of the Atomic... commentary was dubbed over and cut out." I interviewed Jay before the DVDs came out so he did not see how the Atomic commentary was edited. If he did, I'm sure he would have commented on it. "It was especially good to hear the behind the scenes on the DVD interview with Bruce and Cybill." Yes, another great reason why we were able to interview him. He always offers great insight on any behind-the-scene action. That's one of the best interviews I have ever read. I sure learned lots of stuff. It is certainly one of our best and we sure did learn a lot. Jay obviously felt comfortable sharing this stuff with us--and we in turn with you all. The more I listen and the more I read, the more the blame gets spread around. We hope that when fans listen to the commentaries and read our interviews, you can draw your own opinion and conclusion about the blame game. Thank you so much for posting it. adyjdy 02-15-2006, 08:27 PM Great Diana! Thanks for all of your hard work. Man, that guy can talk! diana2001 02-15-2006, 08:51 PM Man, that guy can talk! The interview was 31 pages long! But we ain't complaining, he shared a lot of great insight and information. :D veronika 02-16-2006, 02:23 PM Great interview!!! Thanks Diana:) CyBr 02-17-2006, 10:16 AM The interview has me thinking. Where was the "let's put the blame on Cybill" theme during Jay's interview? I think most of us already knew this, but it's great to see it come out in the open. I agree with Kismet about the blame. Glenn deserves his share of it. In fact, it always bothered me some that in the The Straight Poop, he wrote David and Maddie apologizing to the fans for everything as if it was all their fault. (But I did love the kiss!) MulberryGal 02-17-2006, 11:55 AM Gotta agree with Kis and CyBr on both counts here. Mul kismet 02-17-2006, 12:02 PM I just loved that kiss also. I also loved the way Cybill looked like a young girl, without make-up, and natural hair etc. That is a true beauty! The "It's In His Kiss" song comes to mind when I see that kiss (or any of their kisses for that matter). marla 02-19-2006, 06:14 AM i really liked this interview. he is very 'real'. he's the person 'who worked on moonlighting' that i hope i meet one day. and he has a nice face. your interviews are really causing havoc with the 'moonlighting social club'. (now 483 strong!) the two interviews with cybill shephard and jay daniel are going to be discussed together, because they 'work' together-apart something was missing. ms. shephards interview hightlights jay daniels. the social club is so busy discussing your interviews, that Committees are trying to figure out when to watch a show, and in what order to watch and would it be better to watch in order for perspective, and there are people in the club who know jay daniels or cybill shepard or both (or rosanne) and when would they be available?\ honestly, you'd think nobody has a life, but Everybody does. there's something that exciting about your interviews. diana2001 02-19-2006, 01:14 PM Marla, Thank you for your post. We are very gratified to hear that the "Moonlighting Social Club" finds our interviews exciting enough to be part of the discussions. Jay IS down to earth and very "real" and Cybill always makes the time to talk to us because she truly appreciates all our work in getting the DVDs released and promoting the reunion campaign.
