Who's your fave character and why???

Ramona "Momma" Smith (played by Amanda Randolph). Hands down. No contest. She knew how to play the "Ol' Battle-ax" to perfection. You knew she was always right in her assumptions of the Kingfish's activities, yet you always rooted for him rather than for her because she was such a scary character. I certainly wouldn't want to have met her in a dark alley!

Yes, I agree with Nutloaf! She took the words right off my computer: had to be "Mamma" Ramona Smith. She was Sapphire's mother, and Kingfish was always trying to dodge her. All the actors were just great. I also loved Calhoun the lawyer.

Me, I like the Old Kingfish...that man was irredeemable, but you rooted for him, anyway!

Kingfish. He took over this show much like Maynard took over Dobie Gillis or Fonzie took over Happy Days. Not only was Kingfish a great character, Tim Moore was also a great actor.
