I have this really good friend, Skie, who seems really nice & everything......and said she considers me her best friend.
But everyone at school (mostly my friends) say that she's a backstabber, talks behind people's backs and uses people. So I'm having a really hard time trying to know if Skie's really my friend or just using me for a friend. I mean she seems like any of my other friends......she calls me, talks to me when I'm feeling down, writes notes to me at school, asks if we can hang out sometime, and all that stuff friends do.

I need some help on how to find out if she's really using me or not. Cause I don't wanna make a fool out of myself any longer if she really is using me!

I think the only way to tell if someone is your friend is by how they act, quite honestly. The rumors about her may be true or they may not be (most of the times a rumor is just that-- a rumor). Only you can decide :) If she treats you well and gives you no reason to believe what others are saying, then I think it's safe to say she considers you to be a friend :)

But it's like almost everyone in our whole grade doesn't like her.

I could tell you rumors about a couple of the people *I* was in school with a few years ago...that the entire school believed...that were completely false.

They're just that: Rumors. It's up to you to figure it out for yourself whether they're true or not. Don't listen to anyone else, just make up your mind

Yes, as what was mentioned before, only YOU can tell. Do not listen to what person X or person Y says. I mean, you can listen but don't necessarily go by what they say. Just as someone mentioned, you would have to just go by the way your friend acts, and then you can decide. If you suspect anything odd, then act casual about it. Otherwise, just keep being a friend.

I know, I just don't know if I should trust her or not on some things.
