I can't tell you how many movies, but I swear I hear "Respect" by Aretha Franklin used tooooo much. I see a commercial for a new release and there goes the "Respect". I know there is another particular song but I can't think of it right now, but it just seems movies are not original, they use the same "hot" songs over and over for alot of movies.

Even television promos for certain shows, they seem to use the same ones.

I can't think of any particular songs offhand but I've noticed that the same or similar musical scores are often used in different movies. The music in the previews for Brokeback Mountain is the same as what was used in the Shawshank Redemption several years ago. I'm sure it was the same composer for both films. That score is so moving that I couldn't help but notice it

It seemed like just about every movie in the 80's featured George Thorogood's "Bad To The Bone."

Hopefully it won't make a comeback.

Yes.

It's been heard more on TV and in movies than on the radio.

There is this one opera song that plays in every single movie dealing with hell and the devil.
