View Full Version : Do You Believe in Aliens?

I do, I started to believe in them while watching "Unsolved Mysteries". Anyone else believe in them?

Of course. The idea of life not existing beyond Earth is completely ridiculous.

There is probably other life forms out there, but I hope they don't come here for a visit. After all, we would not be treated as equals, alien life would see us as either food or something to be gotten rid of like germs.

I believe there are other planets out there with intelligent lifeforms on them. I don't believe any have ever been to Earth though.

If aliens do visit Earth, they will most likely be curious about Humans. It is possible they may try to take over, but its doubtful they will try to eat or exterminate the entire human population like you see in the movies.

Yes, I believe in them, but they probably don't look like ET or those little green martians you see on My Favorite Martian.

Yes. Though not necessarily the "greys" that we see depicted so often. That version may exist, but I think many, many different other humanoid configurations are indeed possible.

The universe is huge, if not infinite. To assume that the earth is the only inhabited sphere is short-sighted.

As far as aliens having been to earth before: Hmm... Possible; there are a lot of unexpained markings and accomplishments in earth's history. I would think that they would choose to mingle with the population rather than conquer it. They would learn more about us that way.

I think we're very arrogant to think we're the only living lifeforms in all of space, and in this galaxy as well :)

So yes I guess I do believe :)

I wouldn't worry. If they are advanced enough to be able to travel from across the universe or by time travel to get here, they most likely would have evolved beyond the primitive urge to conquer and/or kill lesser creatures.

Yes. With so many stars and solar systems- at least 1 other has to have the right combination of properties to sustain life. Maybe not exactly the same properties as Earth (if it did- the aliens would look and be human)- but enough to sustain some form of life. It would be great if it wasn't just micro-organisms living, but real aliens! Plus, I think if they visit- they would have to have advanced in technology quite a bit (or stumbled upon it)- meaning it's likely they'd be more intelligent that us- but I don't think they'd destroy us.

A friend of mine has a cool theory that what we think are aliens, are really people from the future who have time travel and come back here to their past.

I think there are other life on other planets. In my opinion, it would be very ignorant to think there wasn't any life beyond this planet.

Much like the originator of this thread, "Unsolved Mysteries also made me believe, or at the very least introduced me to the phenomenon. As for what I think, I agree with others who say there's no way we're the only ones here in a universe this big. I do believe that we've been visited in the past, as there are a few cases that can't be written off with a reasonable explanation. Abductions on the other hand....I dunno. I'd actually like it if they didn't show up (If they're existence is ever proven). It would just be yet another race of beings to upset.

On a side note, it really irks me that some people think that "U.F.O." means "alien." U.F.O. stands for Unidentified Flying Object, meaning that it's something that could turn out to be some everyday object. A weird looking ballon or plane could start out as a U.F. O.

There's a show sometimes on sci-fi called KGB Files, hosted by Roger Moore. It shows all these videos of scientists/civilians/military finding alien spacecrafts, UFO's, alien corpses. I think some videos are filmed by the shows creators, others are claimed to be genuine- just to see if we can pick out which ones are. But all the tapes are from Russia! They get people to comment on them too. What's weird is yesterday in the paper it said scientists claimed to have found an alien craft in a spot where a toxic explosion happened in 1909.

A little O/T: Remember the end of Signs, where the water hurts the aliens- well, as a joke, just before that scene when everyone was being hunted down by the aliens and about to be killed I said to my friend "It'll be some ****ty Wizard of Oz ending- they'll throw a bucket of water round it and it'll scream "I'm melting!!"- so when it actually happened (it didn't scream 'I'm melting' though!)- it was really freaky!

Hmmm, ok. I don't really see how arrogance fits in, I thought you really meant ignorant. Sorry for the confusion.

My belief in aliens grows stronger everytime I look into the mirror. LOL!! Seriously, I do believe it's possible that they exist, but I don't believe they're aliens. My guess is that they're probably demons, or fallen Angels. I always laugh when people are so adamantely against the idea of there possibly being life on other planets. I mean, look all around you. If it's possible for all this to exist, then is it really that far of a stretch to believe there could be life on other planets as well?? So yeah, I believe it's very likely.

*Pleasant Tomorrow*

Of course, I mean, I guess it's possible. The galaxy is huge, how can there not be any other life out there? Though I suppose even that's possible, too, but it just doesn't seem very likely.

Alien life of some form within the known universe?
Yes.

Aliens walking among us, or watching us from space, or trying to make contact?
No.

Although "Contact" is a really good movie.
:)

Ok, maybe some type of lifeform will eventually contact us (in some way)- but not for a lonnnng time.
