does anyone else really see a huge difference between Bea at the end of season 3 and Bea at the beginning of season 4? you can tell she had some major work done. Her hair is totally different and her face is soooo youthful looking compared to how she did in seasons 1-3.

Well I'd hardly call a hairdo change plastic surgery, and about her looking more youthful, I they all looked that way by season two. I think it's because the lighting on the set was better by then.

The drastic hair change was meant to mask the plastic surgery.
Yes she had a lot done and it was fantastic! She is truly beautiful!!! Her season 4 hair wasnt quite right but in seasons 5 and 6 she looks so beautiful its hard to believe its the same person. She also had a voice lift i think because her voice changes significantly. Watch a season 1 episode and youll see. Her beauty continued until she got that horrible season 7 hairdo. She looked great facially and if she wore a wig would look like a statueesque, beautiful young woman half her age!
I dont know why they did that to her hair in season 7.
Unless it was supposed to be a joke... like a phyllis diller type icon hairdo.
As for what she did...
facelift and eyes...but also i think she got work done on her teeth. She had small teeth which isnt a great look..i believe she got longer teeth which fixed her face.
Theres a closed thread somewhere asking why she looks so haggard in season 5. She looks fantastic. Other than sick and tired she looks great. Maybe one episode she sits in the chair to thr viewers right of the couch and looks a little tired but who knows why.
I also notice betty white cant move her neck from time to time and turns her whole body to look to the side.

Interesting to learn about the plastic surgery; I never noticed that before, I'll have to pay attention now.

I don't care for her season 4 hair. It may "hide the marks" of what she had done, but it's just too matronly and elegant and "heavy" for Dorothy. I prefer her seasons 1-3 hair for comedy (her expressions with the short hair are priceless), and the season 5 longer, curlier hair for beauty.

And yes, her season 7 hairdo is horrendous.

Betty White specifically said in her autobiography "I had my eyes done in 1975, and let nature take it's course since then."

So whatever you were witnessing with her turning/not turning her head was probably just a fluke. :) (I could be wrong, I guess, but she certainly doesn't strike me as the type to be vain enough to deny plastic surgery.)

I hardly noticed a differance. She still looked beautiful.

Yes, you can tell the difference with Bea, especially with the eyes and, I think, nose.

There was a period in Season 5 where Bea's hair was just too long. One of the guys who worked on the show said they got more mail about Bea's hair than anything else, and that, in general, the letter writers hated it. ha

Interesting, because I personally thought it made her look a little more feminine. Which, in my opinion, she really needed. :(
