it holds up reasonably well, I watched several episodes already and I can see myself getting into it again. Besides Facts, Strokes and Golden Girls, it's one of my fave shows from the 1980's.

I'll definitely get:
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (Season Three)
Living Single (The Complete First Season)

Maybe Grey's Anatomy if someone convinces me it'll be a good blind buy

Most likely won't get Charles In Charge or Gimme a Break!, but the TV-One marathon will help me decide

hopefully with all the interest in Gimme A Break, this means sales will be high enough to merit future seasons. I would like to see the whole series again, even the last season in NYC with Rosie O'Donnell and Matthew Lawrence would be nice to see again after all these years.

you possibly would like Gimme A Break too, it hasn't been in reruns in a good 8 years since it was on USA, but if you enjoy Diff'rent Strokes and The Facts Of Life, I think you'll like GAB too, GAB actually spent several seasons following DS on NBC, and then it came on before FOL one season.

Man, I haven't seen someone pump up a dvd so hard since that crazy member who was pushing that Fame dvd down everyone's throats a few months ago. ;)

Living Single: Season 1 - $21.99 each

lol, yea. Gimme A Break is a show that I know really needs a push to sell on DVD because it's kinda become obscure with the passing of time and I would love to see more seasons of the show. There are shows out there that I love that are coming out on DVD like Golden Girls (hell, season 4 is out next week and we already know the release date for season 5), Seinfeld, Roseanne, etc... that I am confident that we're gonna continue to see releases for until the last season comes out, but Gimme A Break is a show that could either be a surprise hit on DVD and we'll see further releases for, or could slip under the radar, flop and never see again, and I am pulling for the former because I think GAB deserves to be seen again and was definately one of my faves from the era.

I've actually never seen FOL, but I'd consider blind buying it because of it being a DS spinoff. About GAB... I'd like to check it out, but there's like a zillion other shows I want to get first.

Well i'm gonna try to convince you, personally I didn't like the first season as much as this season but it is a really good show. I know that you have the first couple of ER sets and If you like the ER eps that focus more on the doctors then the medical stuff then you will like this show, most of the show happens in the OR department but it is still spilt 60% Doctors 40% medical, I say give it a try You may not like it (I find the first season a little dull, and the second season more exilerating{probally because we get more medical cases})....Go for it

yea, I second Troop. I like Grey's even more than early ER, I think it's slowly stealing the Sunday night carpet away from Desperate Housewives. It has a great ensemble cast and it's at times, funny, dramatic and suspenseful (such as this weeks cliffhanger). For $17.99 it is certainly worth checking out.

What caught my eye about the Grey's Anatomy set was the price; I didn't know it had such a short first season. I've been wanting to check it out but always move on to something else when Housewives goes off. I might give it a try. Thanks Troop

:::falls to the floor and passes out::: you've never seen FOL?!?! how could you? hahaha

I like Strokes a lot, but I think FOL quickly got it's own identity and I'd say as the two shows progressed, FOL actually ended up becoming the better series of the two once Mrs. Garrett starts "Edna's Edibles" in 1983. If you love DS, you'll at least like FOL, but seasons 1 and 2 are vastly different shows, so if you hate season 1, that doesn't mean you'll hate seasons 2-9, and same if you love season 1, luckily seasons 1 and 2 will be released together so you get to see both eras.

yep, season 1 of Grey's is only 9 episodes, I think it started towards the end of March last year, but it caught on very quickly. I don't watch it weekly but I have seen enough to know it's something I'd like to own on DVD so I can watch it when I want to.

How am I supposed to see FOL? I didn't think it was in syndication any more.

it was on Nick At Nite almost as much as Roseanne for a period about 4 or 5 years ago

^ Now that I think of it, I may have seen it a long time ago in local syndication. (I'm talking 7 or 8 years ago) Diff'rent Strokes was on at 6:00am & FOL was at 6:30am. That was too long ago for me to really remember much about the show though.
