Thanks in advance for your help. Larry Surrell 02-08-2006, 10:40 PM I bought the set from AAA Amos n' Andy Video at http://amosnandydvds.home.mindspring.com/ While the quality of the episodes I've watched so far is good, they put a font along the bottom of the screen several times during each episode that reads "AAA Amos and Andy". I can understand that they're doing this to prevent people from stealing their product, but the font popping up several times during every episode is annoying. If I had known about this beforehand I probably would have bought the DVDs someplace else. If the font thing doesn't bother you then I think this is a pretty good set to get. I've read complaints about the sound and picture quality of the episodes that Amazon.com is selling; these look and sound good to me. Hopefully somebody else with more knowledge of what's available can post their opinion too. Wherever you buy these from, I'm sure you'll enjoy the show itself. It is very funny. The price being charged at AAA is totally ridiculous plus the annoying fonts several times per episode is also a turn-off. You can find a comparable set on Ebay much cheaper & the quality should be about the same. Fancy packaging doesn't necessarily mean better quality, Check the feedback from sellers on Ebay & see if there's been any problems. All dvds & videos that are being offered online are bootlegs. Some were transfered from the original 16mm films & some are nothing but copies of dvds & vhs tapes. I own both & while the majority of the episodes are in very good quality, there's still about a dozen or so that are faded, grainy, etc...These episodes will be this way no matter who you get them from. |
