On the episode "Life's a Beach," which comes from the third season of Married With Children, Candy Hutson, the cute little blond girl, was wearing an unusual bathing suit. That particular bathing suit looked like a one-piece with a hole cut in the center. I later learned that it was called a miokini. In that episode, she wore a pink polka dot, striped miokini with a bow on each side.
Her character, which the closing credits read "Tina", became Bud's "girlfriend" after he did a good deed for her, such as fixing her bucket. I remembered seeing that kind of bathing suit in catalogs and in swimming places back in the late 1980s. Even my younger sisters and my girlfriends used to wear those peculiar swimsuits back then.
Does anybody (girls and women) have any memories about the times you were wearing miokinis back then? Did you like or dislike wearing them and why? When and why did they, whoever designed those swimsuits, discontinue making miokinis? Did any of you keep those swimsuits as examples of different kinds of swimwear?
