View Full Version : Atomic Shakespeare commentary kismet 02-07-2006, 10:02 PM Comments? Ro35 02-07-2006, 10:04 PM I absolutely loved this commentary. It thought is was very funny. They all seemed to enjoy watching it and they were laughing alot too. They seemed comfortable during this commentary. kismet 02-07-2006, 10:13 PM I loved it also. BUT I felt very uncomfortable when they were talking about the blonde with the big, um, bosoms. For some reason, I already knew that Bruce supposedly had been with her (how I know that, I can't remember). I felt that any references to that woman were quite crass and inappropriate. By the way, I liked it when Bruce said that he didn't blame Cybill for ANYTHING. Quite a gentleman (!) for doing that because Glenn can be very cutting towards Cybill. Glenn was not so nice to her on other commentaries. I loved the end when BW held Cy's hand and thanked her for getting pregnant. Then, walking out together, arms around one another, it seemed like old times. colin72 02-07-2006, 10:55 PM Glenn was not so nice to her on other commentaries. ? Just wondering what you're referring to. Ro35 02-07-2006, 11:15 PM Didn't Bruce make a comment about Cybill's also Kismet? laura a 02-08-2006, 06:06 AM Didn't Bruce make a comment about Cybill's also Kismet? Did he really? What did he say?The mind boggles! kismet 02-08-2006, 09:28 AM ? Just wondering what you're referring to. In the Sam & Dave commentary, IMO Glenn seemed to be a little anti-Cybill. Mark Harmon tried not to go in that direction, but it seemed to me that Glenn did, so Mark reluctantly followed the lead. Mark said that both Cybill and Bruce were not available at times when Mark was filming, and yet Cybill gets the blame for not being around. By the way, Cybill had a 6/7 year old child at home. It seems to me that everyone involved in Moonlighting/Cybill bashing forgets that major point. By the way, when Glenn says that Cybill's stand-in was doing the restaurant scene with Bruce and Mark, CYBILL turns her head and shows her profile! Glenn, it WAS Cybill. Enough said. kismet 02-08-2006, 02:03 PM Didn't Bruce make a comment about Cybill's also Kismet? Please help me out with what you thought he said. I didn't hear it. I had trouble understanding some of the comments, in particular the scene with Cy tied up at the altar and Bruce singing Good Lovin'. They were laughing but I tried listening several times and I could not understand anything. Where did I find out about the blonde in Atomic? I cannot remember the where or when or what, but I knew that Bruce and the blonde had been together. Cybill says something like: "How many office people did you have that year (or was it season?)?". The mind reels... Ooooooh, I just heard Bruce say to Cybill -- "...poor baby". laura a 02-10-2006, 08:03 PM I have watched and listened to the commentary but there was so much going on im going to have to watch it again and i`ll give you my views tomorrow. ryangie97 02-10-2006, 08:15 PM I listened to this one again last night and I missed a lot of things the first time. During the scene where Petrucio and Kate arrive at her sister's wedding, I wonder what Glenn was talking about when he said "good thing this commentary is audio only." Anyone else catch that?? laura a 02-10-2006, 08:21 PM I listened to this one again last night and I missed a lot of things the first time. During the scene where Petrucio and Kate arrive at her sister's wedding, I wonder what Glenn was talking about when he said "good thing this commentary is audio only." Anyone else catch that?? Yeah i heard him say that too.And then they all started laughing. kismet 02-10-2006, 08:53 PM I'm going to have to listen to it again, but the first time I heard it, I assumed it was something sexual about the buxom blonde but I could be very wrong. Didn't you love it when he says "poor baby"? I have to repeat this - there was/is something so natural about Bruce and Cybill together. Are we really suppose to believe that they haven't seen each other in 16 years and yet they act as if they haven't been apart at all. When they interact (even though it is sparingly), THEY JUST FIT TOGETHER. adyjdy 02-10-2006, 09:47 PM I was actually a little bothered by this commentary. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but you could totally tell that when the four of them were together Jay Daniel barely said a word. Then, he would have these long bits about random stuff that sound like they were edited over top of what was going on with the four of them. As though he had a lot to say, but wouldn't say it with all four of them together. Also, anyone else catch the LONG silence after Glenn and I think Jay asked quite suggestively WHY there were only 15 episodes in Season 3. I actually don't know much about the squabbles, but those statements sounded very loaded to me, and then there was this long bit of silence that sounded like it was editted over whatever was said after that. Kind of disappointing and pretty contentious IMHO... not between Bruce and Cybill, which was great to hear, but still... CyBr 02-11-2006, 12:44 AM This was by far my favorite commentary. I thought "Sam & Dave" and "Big Man on Mulberry Street" were good too. I think the reason you didn't hear Jay sometimes is he didn't want to talk all the time when obviously Cybill and Bruce were the main attraction. (I wish Glenn had thought that way a few times.) I did notice that Cybill was kind of quiet during the church scene when she was tied up. Overall, I think they seemed pretty comfortable with each other. Bruce did seem to want to list his movies a lot, so maybe to keep up, Cybill mentioned a couple of hers too! I can't blame her. My only real wish is that we hear more of Bruce and Cybill alone, both on the commentary and on Memories of Moonlighting. laura a 02-12-2006, 12:20 PM Yeah my sentiments too .With the Atomic Commentary bits were definitely cut and quite a few times too ,WHY!, what was being said that we weren`t allowed to hear.I do love the commentary though but my curiosity is driving me mad more than ever now,i noticed that one of the edited bits that were cut out and where Jay does his solo comments is during the bed scene and then it cuts back to all four of them laughing again .Now what was Bruce saying in reference to that scene that the editors felt they had to cut out( something a bit naughty i suspect!) Dutchie 02-12-2006, 03:24 PM We need the behind the scenes of the behind the scenes:crazy:  MulberryGal 02-13-2006, 10:33 AM We need the behind the scenes of the behind the scenes:crazy:  You're so right, Steph! I would love to hear the unedited version. I'm sure I heard a comment like "you're so lucky you can just hear us and not see us!" I can imagine Bruce would have made some comments they had to edit out, there was a lot of laughter that we didn't know the reason for! It was also cute when Cybill asked Bruce that she hoped he didn't blame her/have hard feelings about things that happened back then, and he said something like "I don't blame you for nothing honey"! I hope I didn't imagine this, I had better listen again, but I do remember that. Mul |
