And I thought Willona was way TOO EASY on her. All Penny had to say was "I'm sorry, Mama" and that's that! I'd be blowing my cool. She could've caused the whole apartment orfloor to burn down. I'd put her over my knee and spank her so hard! Willona should've dished out a little bit of tough discipline there.

If I had done something like that I wouldn't have been able to sit down for a month.

I guess Willona was probably so glad that nobody was hurt and nothing more got damaged. I would still be so pissed at her though.

I agree. When I was 7, I accidently burnt a mattress (a small burn) while playing with matches. Man, I got the spanking I deserved!!! It wasn't so harsh, yet, it wasn't mild either. I was punished. I was then given the speech abt burning down the house, etc. That taught me a lesson for sure!!!

But Willona never punished her either-lol She was way too easy on her all because of what happened to her with her real mother. That shouldn;t have stopped Willona from punishing her.

Exactly. She could have punished her without hitting or spanking her. It's called discipline.

Yeah I think that Wilona should have grounded her, I don't think she should have hit her. Penny had been hit and yelled at enough. I thought that it was very unrealistic that someone would put a lite cigarette under a sofa cushion LOL.
