I think we should start a new thread about the new set of DVDs, because some of the good stuff might get lost in the other threads.

Cybill looks great in red (and more beautiful than I even imagined she would be), Bruce looks relaxed in jeans and leather, Glenn looks like Glenn:D .

Bruce and Cybill look great together, very relaxed, very much at ease with one another. I just love the look on BW's face when Cy mentions her dislike of getting tied up (on screen that is!). Comments?

How about when BW talks about the scene when he goes to Maddie's house and he says that "Mark friggin' Harmon" answers the door?!
Or when Cybill calls KingB "the "Meat"?! Or when Bruce (?) says that they need to talk about the SEX/relationship of David and Maddie? I am going to re-watch this because I hurriedly ran through it and I need to pay better attention.

Kismet,

All great highlights you have pointed out. I think Cybill looked better here than in last year's DVD interview. She looked sensational in red and her makeup was softer.

I know I posted this in another thread, but I loved the way Bruce grabbed Cybill's hand and squeezed it. I thought Glenn was hilarious, especially when he was impersonating ABC Entertainment president Lew Erlicht and the uzzi story.

It was also great to see so many people from the show that we have interviewed--Glenn, Cybill, Allyce, Curtis, Jeff, Ron, Debra, Roger, Allan, Jay...

Kismet, I loved Bruce's reaction to the comment about her not liking being tied up. Very amusing;) And I wondered what that was he said about Mark Harmon, I couldn't quite make it out. Hmmm? wonder what that was about;)
Diane, I think where he grabbed Cybills hand and thanked her was my favorite part. Very sweet. And the hug at the end was great as well.

I also loved how they freeze-framed them walking out together with their arms around each other. :D

I have much to say but I don't know where to start. I have watched but not studied Atomic Shakespeare, Sam & Dave, and The Straight Poop, listening to the commentaries.

The Straight Poop - congrats to the DVD Campaign Moonlighters. Finally, some recognition for all of the hard work that went into the campaign. I truly believe that it is because of the group of you that the DVDs came into fruition. Diane, Cindy, Hazel, Lizzie (I think) and Vicki - great job on the commentaries given. What a treat to have all of you give great insight!!!

I agreed with Hazel on My Fair David - David should be only with Maddie.;) The Lady In The Iron Mask is also not one of my faves. Camille - I haven't watched it in years.

Cybill was just gorgeous in The Straight Poop. No filters should have ever been used. They distracted from the episodes. I enjoyed listening to all of your comments.

By the way, in regards to The Pilot, according to Glenn on the first DVD set, he said the entire episode was shot on location, so the restaurant was a real place.

Thanks Kismet. We were really not trying to be secretive about our involvement, but had been asked to keep the commentary info quiet until the set was issued. Thanks so much to you and so many others who have been always supportive since the beginning of the DVD quest. Believe me, you were in the booth with us in spirit.

We had a great time doing it, as I am sure you hear. We will be posting some pictures and recollections on DavidandMaddie.com (http://DavidandMaddie.com)within the next couple days.

HI ,this isn`t really a comment but im just wondering has anyone had a chance to watch Heiress Human on the dvds because if any body has can they tell me. In the famous car scene when David telling Maddie what he wants to do to her, they then go on to pounce on one another ,where does the scene get cut because on tv it gets cut just as David is kissing her neck but in the promo for that episode the scene carries on for a bit with Davids head between her womanhoods!. Do they show that?

I haven't had the time to watch To Heiress Human yet, but I will today and see if they stop it before he goes really LOW.

I did notice that a couple of scenes in Atomic Shakespeare seemed to be just a little longer than in my copies from Lifetime in the early 90's.

It's great that we get to see some of the extra promo stuff because sometimes that gets cut out of the repeats.

Unfortunately, we don't get to see him travel down her chest.:D

I have to add that I love the cover of the season 3 DVDs much more than the first set, because Cybill was kind of cut off of the first set.

But I am disappointed that more pictures of them were not included inside. Actually, there are none except for on the inside cover is the kiss from Maddie's Turn To Cry. There are pics on each DVD, first one has Maddie, then David, then Agnes, and on the last one is Bert. There are several small pics on the back cover.

My favorite is still the jacket/inside stuff on the Moonlighting Pilot DVD. More great pics were used on that one.

I wonder why they cut that from To Heiress on the dvd's? I was hoping it'd be longer :( Oh well. I watched Big Man last night, and was happy to see that certain things cut for Lifetime were included here. Wouldn't that be great if they include bonus features(bloopers, cut scenes, etc) on the next set of DVD's? They are gonna release 4 and 5 right? I hope so :) I know they aren't the favorite of many, but maybe to increase sales, they'd include that stuff. Ahh, that would be great great. Even better still, Bruce and Cybill in a quick Maddie and David exchange so we can move beyond (I'm sorry to mention) Lunar Eclipse. Oh, by the way, I liked how they used the Maddie and David music for the reunion. That was nice :)

Another somewhat disappointing cut I picked up on is from "Maddie's Turn to Cry" during the famous trunk scene. In the original run, when they kiss you can see their hands touching at the bottom of the screen, but on the DVD their hands are cropped out. :( I probably wouldn't have noticed except that that is one the main things I always enjoyed about that kiss.

I think its a really interesting review. It's really very insightful for someone who doesn't seem to be a super hardcore fan. A lot of depth in this one.

A couple of points... I find it strange and somewhat surreal that this reviewer and several others I've read seem to really feel that ML peaked in Season 2 and it was during Season 3 that things started going downhill. I've been really surprised how many times I've read that since S3 came out. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking 3 is BY FAR, HANDS DOWN the best season! Anyone else know what to make of this contradiction?

One other comment that could really be an interesting thread unto itself. Kevin Gilvear writes in that review that the will they/won't they question is a "distracting element" in S3 and that he feels ML "bowed to pressure too early." What do you guys think? Did the producers bring M and D together too soon? I think I actually kind of agree with Kevin here. Pregnancies and collarbones notwithstanding, I think the sexual tension could have gone on for at least another season and most of us would have hung on? What do you guys think? Could you have waited longer? People who were adults in 1987, could the rest of the more casual TV audience have waited?

Many people will claim that, in hindsight, it's easy to criticize the decision to bring David and Maddie together in Season 3. But I would agree that they definitely could've waited longer (and I felt that way at the time).

What they really should've done if they wanted to have them get together is then immediately have them back off. Although they seemed to be doing this in "To Hieress Human", they had them keep "boinking" with I always thought was lame.

They should have had Maddie claim it was probably a mistake (as she did) and have her say they needed to take time and not rush into something (or something to that effect). That way, they could have done back to flirting and continued as before.

To deal with Cybill's pregnancy, they should've just said it was David's baby and then have Maddie miscarry or hide the pregnancy altogether (it's been done in other shows). Maddie still could've gone to Chicago but I think we're all in agreement that the Walter Bishop storyline was a horrible mistake.

And of course, don't even get me started about Lunar Eclipse.

Getting David and Maddie together was a distraction???? What show was this guy watching? That WAS the show! Yes, it had some madcap parts and it was really funny, but come on! The show WAS David and Maddie and everything else was a distraction!! Btw, it's Cybill (wrong throughout) Shepherd (wrong at least once)!

OK OK - I'll confess:

I wanted them to get together in the oh-so-sexy office couch scene in the Pilot -- when she rubbed the blanket across her shoulders and the way he looked at her -- I just about fainted.

I also wanted them to get together in the dance scene in the Pilot -- she was ever so gorgeous and I know he wanted to plant one on those beautiful lips. When he smelled her hair, I "got the vapors".;)

The fact that they waited almost three years was amazing.

I think his point about the will they/won't they being a distraction was simply that it was kind of like everybody was just checking their watches for that to happen and therefore couldn't drink in all the other great things (NOT cases) that were going on in S3. In that way, I can kind of see his point. It's not until you kind of already know how IT's going to happen and when IT's going to that you can lean in and sniff Season 3's wonderfully Blue Moon Shampoo perfumed hair. ;)

As I have already said I didn't start watching Moonlighting until season 4 and it's definitely given me a different view to those who watched from the beginning. So yes I can see the pint about the distraction. But I don't agree about Moonlighting peaking in season 2, season 3 is fab too

Quite! I agree completely! I wanted them to get together in the pilot, then I wanted them to get together in Buenos Aires after they won the money, then I wanted them to get together after they kissed in the garage in Witness, I wanted them to get together when Maddie came to the door for their 'date' in Symphony, I wanted them to get together when Dave came to Maddie's door and Sam was there (argh!) and I wanted them to get together when they were sat in Dave's apartment on a trunk. How they spent over two years of "bees being and ducks ducking" without getting together was a miracle!

Much as I enjoy the cases (they are good fun on the whole), the whole point of this show was Maddie and David and their 'relationship'. The best bit of the show was when they were bantering or screaming at each other and slamming doors or dreaming about each other. It was never about anything else...

Yes, from the moment Maddie walked into David's office in the pilot we all knew that the most important part of the show is David and Maddie and their relationship.

Being able to watch the DVDs episode after episode with no interruptions and seeing that relationship develop is wonderful

I've got the DVD's! Can't believe how long I had to wait, but now I can say it was worth the wait..
Memories of ML started off a little slow, Glenn doing most of the talking so I would definitely have preffered them to be alone.. hmm. (My mind went somewhere else, where was I?) Then they got to say stuff too, there were sweet moments, and a hug!!! :happyface
Cybill is HOT! And Bruce is.. well.. can't help but love him, he's always hot. ;) I'd tie them both up and call them "meat" anytime

Hi guys,
a couple of days ago I have seen again Atomic Shakespeare wtih commentaries, but I don't understand two lines yet. Can someone help me?

1) What Bruce answers during the wedding after Cybill tell him that she always laughing when he kissed her?

2)The end of episode, what exactly Cybill says about second season and more, before Bruce tell her not having blame for anything?

Thanks a lot !

1. When she asks if he remembers that she laughed everytime he kissed her, I think he says "You were not that uptight". I could be wrong, and am ready to stand corrected. :)

2. Cybill says that she told someone(Skip?) to hit Bruce with a rubber gun somewhere during the second season, and then she asks if he can forgive him... And he can.. yeeeaaahhh. :)
