Was anybody else aware that during the first season of ADW, Whitley was a sophomore? I always assumed she was supposed to be in Dwayne and Denise's class.

After they re-tooled the show in season 2, they ignored that fact and had her in Dwyan's class as a sophomore.

Yeah, I had noticed that too. A lot of stuff happened after season 1 that never made any sense - the sudden disappearance of Maggie and Millie being a good example.
Season 1 was the best - 'A Different World' went downhill rapidly after that!

I noticed that too, but I liked it better after the first season, I think it was better when Denise left. I liked her better on the Cosby Show.

Season 1 sucked big time. It was much better when Lisa Bonet left the show because of her pregancy and it was way better when Millie and Maggie left. Because they didnt fit in. Plus they all were to me like geeks, so from season 2 through 6 when Debbie Allen was in control of the show, it was better because you were able to see them mature and find out where they stand.

Actually, Whitley was not put into Dwayne's class in season 2. If you remember that at the end of season 3 she was ready to graduate but decided to go to school for another year to gain more business experience. She graduated after 5 years (1 year later then she should have). Dwayne graduated after 4 years. That is why they graduated at the same time. :)
