What is going on with Disney Channel ? They are shelling out a whole bunch of new shows, they shell out new shows so fast, we barely get to enjoy one new show before the shell out another show, and end up replacing the "oldie" shows with the "newie" shows and pushing the "oldie" shows to 12-5am slots, where most people are asleep. In just one year, they brought 6 new shows in the same year, while previoulsy, they would only have three new shows a year. Look at shows that premiered(or will appear) just in 2005-2006(yes, 2006).

In random order

1.Life With Derek
2.Naturally, Sadie
3.The Suite Life of Zack and Cody
4.The Buzz On Maggie
5.W.I.T.C.H
6.The Emperor's New School

I admit I kinda miss the old Disney. In the early/mid 90's, they pulled the Nickelodeon/Nick At Nite style programming where around 9 pm, they switched to PG-rated programming adults could watch, but stuff that wasn't so offensive kids couldn't watch either. They'd air old movies, concert specials (I remember them having Celine Dion, The Bee Gees, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John and David Bowie on there) and other things geared more for the parents enjoyment than the kids. Compare this to all-night Raven and Lizzie McGwire, not that many people who are up at 11 pm really want to see Lizzie marathons. I thought Disney Channel was kinda classy back then and could've become similar to Nickelodeon (as shows like Murphy Brown and Roseanne would never air in Nick's daytime roster)

Disney Channel is annoying anyway. Their commercials are obnoxious.

I miss commercial free Disney and also the classic movies they used to air. Nothing appeals to me on there right now.

They will never be a decent network unless they drop the 65 Episode Limit. Sure they let That's So Raven go over, but the 2 hits they have this century were cancelled maybe before their time. Its also as if the 65 Episode mark is the only place they will stop, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody - that realistically should not last 65 Episodes but I am sure it will.

Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network haven't been entertaining in a long time.

Disney Channel = Singing/Acting Celebrity Teen Channel, Nickelodeon = Eccentric Western Animation and Urban Kiddie Shows Channel and Cartoon Network = Cheap Anime All The Time Network (except I admit to watching Futurama and Family Guy reruns on Adult Swim).

I do like Noggin/The N, though. A mix of classic teen fare and new original series. Degrassi is rather good, then again, it has a 25 year legacy backing it up.

The only show on Disney Channel I like nowadays is The Suite Life. But I agree with what everyone's said...I miss classic Disney!

And another thing that gets to me about Disney is how all of these actors in these new shows do a movie and suddenly think they're the next big thing and make a record and movies when they don't have much talent to begin with! Seriously, enough with the Disney child actors trying to make it big elsewhere. You know?
