View Full Version : SO Interview: Little Mel (Week 4)
swedeace 02-06-2006, 09:01 AM Little Mel's name is one of four names picked for the SO Interview of the Week!!
Ask Little Mel anything. And away we go....
My question:
Do you feel you are comfortably conservative for life? (note: from your last username of "Conservative4Life")
Brad Russ 02-06-2006, 09:36 AM Conservative4Life's name is one of two names picked for the SO Interview of the Week!!
Do you feel you are comfortably conservative for life?
No, I'm little Mel now. Seriously though, I think I'll pretty much always consider myself to be conservative for the most part, yeah. I'm basically conservative on moral issues, and I honestly don't see my views on moral issues ever changing. I have many liberal beliefs as well, but overall, I lean to the right, and I seriously doubt that'll ever change.
swedeace 02-06-2006, 10:22 AM No, I'm little Mel now.
Ack!! It's hard for me to keep track of who is who anymore. People keep changing their usernames on me, and I don't have every single person here memorized. You people are driving me crazy! Hahaha... well, I have just changed your username on the title and in the message area. Sorry about that... *red in the face*
Interesting answer.... :)
Southern Hellraiser 02-06-2006, 02:51 PM What did you have for lunch?

bad_boy 02-06-2006, 04:00 PM What's your favorite sport?
What was your favorite movie from the 90's?
Do you have a favorite actor?
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you want to live?

Dean Winchester 02-06-2006, 04:16 PM which sequel would you rather see Mel Gibson make.... Mad Max IV or Lethel Weapon 5?
bad_boy 02-06-2006, 04:19 PM Do you watch All in the Family?
Brad Russ 02-06-2006, 04:22 PM What did you have for lunch? Well, I actually haven't eaten lunch for the past few days, so that's a tough one to answer. LOL!! I'll probably eat lunch today, and have some SuperBowl leftovers. Buffalo wings, little smokies in bbq sauce, and some potato salad. Hopefully I don't over eat again, but I'm sure I will. puke:
What is your favorite movie? Wow, this is one of the toughest questions to answer. Too many damn good movies out there. I'd say my favorite movie right now is My Flesh and Blood. It's an emotional documentary about a wonderful lady who adopted 11 special needs children. It was the best film I saw in all of 2005.
Current favorite song? Currently my favorite songs are: The Shadow Proves The Sunshine, by Switchfoot, Ever The Same, by Rob Thomas, and Amazing Love, by The NewsBoys. You can hear amazing love by clicking on my myspace link in my signature. (cheap plug )
What ticks you off most? My team losing the SuperBowl yesterday!! Naah, I'm slowly getting over that. What pisses me off most is people who get jealous while seeing others having a good time, and out of their jealousy, try and bring you down by calling you names, and making mean spirited, and sarcastic comments towards you. I invite anyone to share their troubles with me so that I can maybe help, but don't you dare try to mock, and ridicule me, just because you're feeling miserable about your own life!! I can't think of anything that pisses me off more then that.
What is your greatest fear? My family and I not making it into Heaven. Everything here on this earth is temporary, but Heaven is eternal. I want to spend eternity in Heaven with my family.
What is your philosophy on life? To live each day as if it's your last, and to never give up, no matter how bad things get. If I didn't follow these rules, I'd have been dead years ago
Do you watch American Idol? Only when the bad singers perform.
Who were you rooting for in the Super Bowl? Have you been living under a rock?? I'm just kidding. Look at my avatar.
Favorite TV show? Currently: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. All time favorite: Either Roseanne, or All In The Family.
Good questions guys. Please keep them coming!! :D
Brad Russ 02-06-2006, 04:56 PM What's your favorite sport? Basketball, and boxing.
What was your favorite movie from the 90's? The Cure (Movie about a kid dying of Aids)
Do you have a favorite actor? I have quite a few. Michael J Fox, Carroll O'Connor, Mel Gibson, Jim Caviezel, Kevin Spacey, Denzel Washington, Nicholas Cage, Jack Nicholson, and Robert Deniro.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you want to live?Hmm, I'm pretty happy where I am, except I'd prefer living in a more mountainess, and less populated area.
Where do you want to go on your next vacation? Well, after my vacation to Florida, I want to go to Israel, although I don't think that'll be happenning. LOL!!
Do you watch All in the Family?Oh hell yeah!! It's not my favorite tv show of all time for nothing. I have almost every episode on tape, and I'm looking to purchase more of the DVD's soon!! :D
which sequel would you rather see Mel Gibson make.... Mad Max IV or Lethel Weapon 5? If I had to choose, I guess I'd go with Mad Max. In all honesty, I'd prefer he do neither. I love Mel Gibson, but I was not a huge fan of either series, and I would prefer he continue to stir up controversy, and try new things. The film industry is kind of boring right now in my view, so I'd like to see Mel do things that haven't already been done a million times before. I'd love to see him do a film based on the Bible's book of Revelation, or as it's known in Catholicism, the Book of Apocalypse. That's what I'm hoping his next project will be.
Do you like Hostess or Little Debbie snacks more?Little Debbie. We didn't have much money as kids, so we would always rustle up some change from the couch, and go buy little debbie's since they were cheaper. My favorites were those little roles with the white cream in the middle.

What is your favorite cartoon?
Do you play any video games?
Are you actively involved in politics?

Brad Russ 02-06-2006, 09:59 PM Ginger or Mary Ann? Mary Ann, no contest!!
Ever worn clothes of the opposite gender? Ha ha ha, oh my goodness, yes I have. When I was little, I use to put on my mom's panty hose, dress, and high heels, and do a comedy routine for all the neighborhood kids. LOL!! Gosh, I can't believe I admitted that!! Suffice to say, my transgender days are over.
What would you do if a tall man rang your doorbell holding a pan of pasta and said YOU WANT PASTA??? I GEEVE EET TO YOOOOOOO? I would say, how dare you ask a short guy to eat a pan full of pasta. You Is A Racist!! Then I'd knock the pasta into his face, slam the door, and call Al Sharpton, and we'd file a lawsuit.
Would ever drive through a cornfield in your underwear at 3am listening to Viva Las Vegas? How did you know about that??
Do you know why Chad isnt asking any questions? You think hed have funyn ones? He's too busy right now trying to turn that Tim guy gay. After that, I think he'll go after S.O.'s most sexy man from 2005, Peter May.
Have you ever had Jehovah Witnesses come to your door? If so, what do you do? Well, they're so nice, I usually just sit there and grin, and pretend to be interested in what they're saying. I have roomates now though, so that's no longer my problem. I just pretend I'm asleep when anyone knocks so that they'll have to answer.
If you had to get rid of one forum on S.O., what would it be? Good question. I don't think I'd get rid of anything though. There are many forums that I don't care about, but if you got rid of any of them, people would just start complaining, and turn the chit chat board into a whine fest. So, it would probably be best not to get rid of any. If I absolutely had to though, I guess I'd get rid of the current sitcoms forum. I only watch one current sitcom, so that board is already non-existant to me.
When did your faith and/or religion start playing a major part in your everyday life? When I was 17 years old. I remember I was laying in bed one night, and the thought crossed my mind: If I died right now, I'd go to Hell. I don't know what it was about that moment, but I became very scared, and prayed to God. The first thing I prayed for is that he would somehow and someway get me a Bible, because I knew that the only way I personally would be able to know for sure if God was real, I would need a Bible. Miraculously, about two months later, out of the blue, my mom asked me if I wanted her Bible. Immediately, as I started reading it, I knew that God was real. Amazing miracles started to happen, and at that moment, I knew that Jesus was the way for me. Since that fateful night back in 1999, I have read the Bible three times, and have had so many amazing miracles occur in my life, that I could honestly write a book about them. So, in answer to your question, my Faith immediately became incredibly important to me the moment I made that prayer in 1999. My life has never been the same since. Unfortunately Iv'e been backsliding in my Faith lately, but hopefully I'll get my act together soon, and get right with God once again. :)
How do you imagine Heaven to be like? Wow, I imagine golden roads, beautiful fresh air, animals of all kinds, and people of all races getting along in perfect harmony, and being with the ones I love.
Do you have any pets? Yes, a dog named Salem, and two cats, Freddie, and Daphne. They're all females.
Are you mad that the Seahawks lost the Super Bowl? :( I'm not really all that upset about it anymore. I'm more in the reflective phase now. The Seahawks did better this year than anyone expected, and I'm proud of them, despite the loss. Hopefully they'll be back in the SuperBowl next year, and win it all!!
What names would you choose for your kids? Beth, David, Rachel, and Job. :)
Are you gonna buy Rent when it comes out on DVD on February 21st? ;) I'm going to rent Rent, and if it's half as good as you've said, I'll definitely be buying it. I'm about 95 percent sure right now that I'll be buying it. I'm sure it's awesome!!
What were you like when you were in high school? I went to an alternative school throughout my high school years, and I was shy, and pretty much stayed to myself. When I wasn't skipping school, I was staring at the clock, trying to make it go faster. Those were some tough years for me. I was kind when spoken to, but never initiated a conversation myself. If you ever hear the song "Keep Talking" by Pink Floyd, you'll get a better idea of what I was like. That song explains it better then I can.
What do you do for a living? I was working at a supermarket, but was forced to quit because of the massive panic attacks I'd get around large groups of people. I'm on meds now, and am much better, and will be going to a community college soon so I'll have more job options, and can find some place where I can be comfortable with my disabilities.
Do you think that a person's personality is affected more by their genes or by their environment or both? In other words, what's your take on the nature/nurture question? Are we who we are because we were born that way or does the environment make us who we are? I think a person is born a certain way. I can only go on personal experiences, but outside influences haven't really changed who I am very much. Iv'e seen some pretty ****ty things in my life, but I believe it's our choice as to whether or not we'll let those things affect us or not. I do believe that outside influences can determing the type of person we become to a degree, but overall I think genetics has more to do with it than anything else. Sorry I can't be more articulate in answering this great question, but it's something I'd need to take more time to think about to express my feelings correctly.
What do you do when you are stressed out? Work out, sleep, Go online, go for a walk, ride my bike, listen to inspirational music, lift weights, watch a movie, practice my breathing techniques, etc.
What is your favorite cartoon? Snoopy, all the way!!
Do you play any video games? Yeah, but not as much as I use to. Currently I'm playing Ms. Pac Man, Mario Kart, and NBA Live.
Are you actively involved in politics? Not too much, no. I have gotten more actively involved in the last year or so, and plan on getting even more involved in the future. I'll never get overly involved though. Politics is a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of profession, so unless you're a very thick skinned person, it's best not to get too involved.
How many different languages can you speak? Three. English, Pig Latin, and I'm currently being taught Melmacian by this guy. ;)
Brad Russ 02-06-2006, 10:04 PM Which do you prefer to listen to cds or the radio?
Definitely the radio!! I don't have enough money to buy all the cd's I want, so with the radio, I get to hear more of my favorite songs. I mostly listen to Christian music these days. 104.1 The Fish. :)
robyrob 02-06-2006, 10:51 PM ever make moonshine in yer basement?

Chad Michael Murray 02-07-2006, 12:09 AM Well, since I can see that my services have been requested here...
Yes, turning Tim to "the dark side" WOULD be a nice thought, but somehow I don't think I have enough time, patience...or money to make that happen.
So, without further ado, let me just ask you...
WHATCHA GONNA DO, BROTHERRRRRR, WHEN CHADAMANIA GOES WILD ON YOUUUUUU?!
Brad Russ 02-07-2006, 03:04 AM All right! Good choice! :happyface
That's right!! You can't go wrong with Mary Ann!! :D
Brad Russ 02-07-2006, 03:28 AM ever make moonshine in yer basement? Goes to look up the word moonshine......Oh, that's what moonshine is. Nope, I can't say that I have.
do you trust the squirrels (http://www.squirrelhouse.com/)? No way!! Every Summer they run up my shorts, and try to steal my nuts.
have you ever worn flipflops? why? Yeah, when I was a kid. I wore them because I was too lazy to tie my shoes.
have you ever made chilli (http://www.flying-rhenquest.net/GreenChilli.html)? Of course I have. Who do you think gave him the recipe??
do you find the  at least slightly obnoxious? I find that emoticon obnoxious when someone uses it regarding something I said, otherwise I think it's pretty cool.
do you have a good singing voice, or did you ruin it with all that moonshine, chilli, flipflops,-kicking and squirrel-chasing? I ruined it.
WHATCHA GONNA DO, BROTHERRRRRR, WHEN CHADAMANIA GOES WILD ON YOUUUUUU?! I'll send Mankind after you, and he'll put you in the mandible claw!!
Chad Michael Murray 02-07-2006, 06:10 PM Okay, so you get to spend 24 hours with ANY WWE Diva...who do you choose, and why?
Janice 02-07-2006, 07:23 PM What's your earliest childhood memory?
How do you envision your life five years from now?
Are you close with your mother? (I know that answer but I want others to hear it) ;)
Brad Russ 02-07-2006, 10:02 PM Okay, so you get to spend 24 hours with ANY WWE Diva...who do you choose, and why? Well, ever since you posted that pic of Stacy Keibler a couple weeks ago, she's been the only WWE diva on my mind!! Why??? Here's the picture, figure it out. ;)
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/attachment.php?attachmentid=103767&stc=1&d=1137640162
What's your earliest childhood memory? Probably when I lived in Seattle, and my brother and I use to swing on the swingset everyday, and wait for our mail lady who always brought us a piece of candy. She was awesome!!
How do you envision your life five years from now? That really is a tough question to answer, and I haven't the slightest idea. I can say where I'd like to be in five years though. I'd like to have gotten a college diploma, have the screenplay Iv'e been working on for the longest time be finished, and be made into a movie. Have a nice house where I'd live with my mom, in a nice peaceful area in the mountains. And hopefully, I'll be married to the lady in the link above!! :happyface
Are you close with your mother? (I know that answer but I want others to hear it);) Ahh, thanks for asking that Janice. I am very very close with my mother. Along with God, she is the number 1 person in my life, and will always be. When I was going through all my problems as a teenager, and everyone just wrote me off as a bad kid, she was the one person who stood behind me. No matter how hopeless things seemed, her prayers never stopped, and beginning at the age of 17, her prayers finally started being answered. When her prayers for me started being answered, I was honestly more happy for her, than I was for myself, because it showed her that God had been listening, and even though it took awhile, just as he promises, she asked, and she received. Now, I try to do everything in my ability to pay her back for all she's done for me. I'll never be able to fully pay her back, but I have made it my life's goal to continue to try. My mom is the best person Iv'e ever met, and I love her beyond words!!! I mentioned earlier how I could write a book on miracles, but I could write 100 books about my mom. She's the greatest!!! :)
I know you already know this Janice, but this sort of gives me the opportunity to let others know. My mom is going in for her second heart surgery on March 15th, so for everyone who's reading this, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. It would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!! And to Janice, Irene, Tara, Jenny, and everyone else who has known about this, and has been praying for her, thank you again. Your prayers have meant more to me then words could ever express!!! :D
gilligan fanatic 02-08-2006, 11:51 AM Did you see any of the Alf Cartoons
Southern Hellraiser 02-08-2006, 01:46 PM What year did you graduate?
Brad Russ 02-08-2006, 04:12 PM Did you see any of the Alf Cartoons? Oh yeah, I use to watch it all the time. Didn't he use to ride around in his space ship in that cartoon?? I sure wish the cartoon network would bring it back, along with the Karate Kid cartoon that use to air on Saturday mornings. :(
What year did you graduate? 2000
Brad Russ 02-10-2006, 06:56 AM Anymore questions?? If not, I understand, but hopefully you guys have more before Monday, because this is alot of fun!! I'm pretty much an open book, so you can ask me anything. :)
MsOrange 02-10-2006, 08:16 AM How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?
Southern Hellraiser 02-10-2006, 08:37 AM Are you a morning person?
Brad Russ 02-10-2006, 03:27 PM How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood? I was going to ask Karen Foster this question. LOL! Anyway, the answer to this age old question, is three. I'm friends with this woodchuck who helps me keep all those beady eyed little squirrels away from my nuts, and he told me.
Are you a morning person? No, not at all. I'm a major insomniac, so I'm usually kind of cranky in the morning.
MsOrange 02-10-2006, 03:29 PM Where do you work? What do you do?
gilligan fanatic 02-10-2006, 03:36 PM Did you ever have a betamax player?
Brad Russ 02-11-2006, 05:23 AM Where do you work? What do you do? Karen asked this question. Here was my answer:
I was working at a supermarket, but was forced to quit, because of the massive panic attacks I'd get around large groups of people. I'm on meds now, and am much better, and will be going to a community college soon so I'll have more job options, and can find some place where I can be comfortable with my disabilities.
So basically, my answer is nowhere. I wanted to give an explaination though, so people wouldn't just think I'm a lazy bum, cause I'm not.
Did you ever have a betamax player? I had never even heard of one, until you mentioned it. Technology sure has come a long way since those things were first invented.
Southern Hellraiser 02-11-2006, 11:37 AM Have you ever been to an IMAX theater?
PrettyinPink55 02-11-2006, 11:47 AM What is your current desktop picture?
Do you like taking pictures?
What was your favorite subject in school?
Have you kept your New Year's resolution so far?
Where did you get that cool Archie Bunker clip art that used to be your avatar from?
What are you thinking about right this second?
Jonathan 02-11-2006, 07:09 PM Do you buy or rent movies?
PrettyinPink55 02-11-2006, 08:09 PM What is your favorite website besides SO?
Brad Russ 02-13-2006, 06:15 AM Have you ever been to an IMAX theater? No, I can't say that I have. Iv'e always wanted to go to one though. Maybe I will one of these days.
What is your current desktop picture? My current desktop picture is that Alf picture that I use to have as an avatar.
Do you like taking pictures? I love taking pictures. Photography is alot of fun. Iv'e filled three picture albums in the past year.
What was your favorite subject in school? P.E., spelling, writing, and my 6th grade math class. I suck at math, but had a huge crush on my math teacher that year. Looking at her was the only thing that motivated me to go to that class each day.
Have you kept your New Year's resolution so far?I chose not to have any resolutions, that way I won't be disappointed. I have lost 7 pounds though, and I'm prett proud of that.
Where did you get that cool Archie Bunker clip art that used to be your avatar from? I just went to yahoo, went to images, and did a search on Archie Bunker and found it. I knew the second I found it that it was going to be my avatar. There was also a cool one with Archie, and Homer Simpson. I may make that my avatar one of these days.
What are you thinking about right this second? I'm thinking about how disappointed I am that todays Monday, and I won't be getting anymore questions. :( Oh well, all good things must end. It's been fun though!!
Do you buy or rent movies? Not really much of either actually, but I rent more then I buy. I like to see something first before I decide whether or not I want to buy it.
What is your favorite website besides SO? Probably cnn.com. Ha ha ha, yeah right, just a little humor for all my liberal friends out there. My favorites are Guzer, because I love online video, yahoo, because of their video and photo options, and MySpace, because Iv'e made some really cool friends, I can listen to lots of good free music, and because I even have a few famous people on their as my friend.
Just for you PrettyInPink55, here's the large version of my Archie Bunker avatar :)
Anyway, thank you so much everyone for all the great questions this week. I had alot of fun answering them. It was nice being an S.O. celebrity for a week.
