PRINCE is gonna make his first SNL appearence in TWENTY-FIVE YEARS tonight!!! Oh, by the way, a little comic actor named Steve Martin is hosting too.
With these two, this is gonna be the best SNL in ages :)

its been too long since they've had established musicians, instead of flavor-of-the-month pop stars.
...although they DO lipsynch and hoe-down better

I wasnt home, but I recorded it. I watched the first few minutes. The opening sketch didn't seem live.
I hate SNL in HDTV. Television should be made to fill the screen. Movies are meant for widescreen.
I agree. There are some TV shows where widescreen works because they're more "cinematic", like to me, Supernatural is like a weekly one-hour horror movie, and having it in widescreen really advances the cinematic feel to it, same with 24 and Angel when that was on. But Saturday Night Live is not supposed to feel like a movie.

Once everyone has a HDTV, and has the version of your station's NBC signal that broadcasts IN HD (The signal with the letters DT in them), it'll all make sense

I'm not a huge Prince fan, but I thought he sounded, and looked great. Made watching the musical portion of the show worth it for once. That was probably the first S&L performance Iv'e enjoyed since Don Henley appeared back in 2001. And Prince actually seemed normal for once.

I was so disapointed that they did a Prince Show sketch... yet he didn't even appear on it, when I saw Prince Show starting up, I was expecting him to poke fun at himself there, lol
