OK i got this in and thought I would let you all know about it
I NEVER KNEW IT EXISTED TIL I GOT IT!!
(cut and paste from the guy i got it from )
Up for trade may be the rarest example of stop motion animation ever produced by a studio. The material on this DVD has never been shown to the public, or been commercially available!!
In the 1960’s Charles King of King Features Syndicate decided to update the image of the Little Rascals with COLOR to capture the younger audience. Since there was no colorization process available at the time, and they knew that to re-make the Little Rascals with new actors would lose most of the charm of the original (ex. The Little Rascals Movie), they decided to film the shorts in stop motion animation synchronized with the original soundtrack.
They produced 5 shorts that are included on this DVD to see if the project was practical. Obviously, the project was not practical since the shorts were never commercially produced (probably due to time, trouble and labor involved in clay animation process). There are no credits on these shorts, so I don't know who animated them ( Art Clokey ? - very Davey and Goliath looking) or what studio they were produced at. The animation is well done, and there are many interesting sets and miniatures. The only credits on these shorts are "Charles King Presents:" and "A Little Rascals Color Special".
The shorts included on this DVD are " Hearts are Thumps ", " Came the Brawn ", " Shiver my Timbers ", " Follies of 1936 " and " Second Childhood ". Running time on the DVD is aprox. 1 hour and 20 minutes.
YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS TO BELIEVE IT
