I don't HAVE a list. My collection, which includes a collection I inherited and I am still sorting thru, contains hundreds of thousands of shows. As I have been putting them to DVD, I have been cataloging the DVDs. There are reasons for this, not the least of which is that I don't have time to make 2 lists and I do not want people asking me about shows that I will not trade. I'm not giving out shows that may have cost me several hundred dollars for something that lots of people have. Therefore, I do not send this list out. If you are interesting in certain shows, you can forward me a want list and I can check to see what I have. I have other friends who are also serious collectors and believe me, those of us whose tapes are in the tens of thousands do not have every single show catalogued on a list.

By the way, Girl from UNCLE on ALTV is timesped and/or edited.

No, who's he? However if any of you were truly big in the hobby, you would be well known, wouldn't you? Like for instance, David Miller, Boyd Magers, Ronnie James, etc.

ok bencasey

i answered most all of the many questions you asked about the shows u sent on the list
please look at my want list

www.freewebs.com/nmboye

and let me know if u have anything i want

i dont mean to seem rude, but you ask a lottttt of questions

i dont mind answering them, if this has the possibility of actually working out into a trade

but thus far, i have gotten no replies to my inquiries, just more questions

i asked about the filthy rich episodes u had and didnt get a reply, i asked what u had that i would want and didnt get a reply

that is why u r being greeted with hesitation on the trading post

b/c most traders try to let others know what they have, and it seems as if noone here knows what u have

if u give us some info on your stuff

like maybe post a partial list of 30 or 40 things u have
you would get a warmer welcome

rsvp please
i do hope we can work out a swap

Did you ever think that some folks don't want to be well known. They do their thing as far under the radar as possible. The last thing they want is a reputation as one of the bigs in the trading community.

Bottom line is there are many who do their thing as inconspicous as possible. You knowing them doesn't mean they are "bigs, anyone can act a big, just post in every group ten times a day, and if someone says they have 3 dvds of the mating cycle of the Monarch butterfly, trade for it, makes your list look bigger.

Hold on a second there cowboy, didn't you tell us in a previous post that you do not partake in the illegal activity of selling/buying of bootlegs?

So you want to know how to go about breaking the law and bootlegging? Any other illegal endeavors you want to know about? Drug dealing? Identity Theft? How about this, if you don't own the rights to something, don't try to sell it. Are you that hard up for money?

So which is it?

Selling/buying bootlegs is not the only way to spend money with regards to collection television. Auction houses, estate sales, shipping costs, restoration costs, etc, etc.

i wonder if this is the same person who went by the name 25yeartrader here a while back and got lots of people riled up

sounds very similar

both have long beach on their location

both have similar claims to massive colelctions, and both wouldnt trade

if you remember the other one lived on yacht in long beach

you cant make people want to trade, if they choose not to

there are plenty of other folks to work with here

dont let someone drive you nuts with talk about this and that, im sure if you think for a minute and read this persons posts

hes not interested in trades

many people on net boards have their own aganda

who knows why someone would boast of haveing this and that on a trade site, and then not be willing to trade

who would speak against bootlegs and then all of a sudden boast as to how much they paid for this and that bootleg

everyone take a minute and see through the fog cloud, and get back to trades and stuff

y2k3Joker

Auction houses, estate sales, .

If money changes hands, a transaction (a sale ) is made. There's no difference here.

Pimping sets for Amazon.com on your website ??(commision based), I see a conflict of interest here. If the bootleggers make money, YOU DON'T.

I see your angle.

theres a link on your site that directs people to amazon to buy things and of course you get a commission for every sale

thats simple enough

I understood that. I did not understand what y2k3Joker meant when s/he brought it up.

Your comment(s) took on a anti-bootlegger stance so I was making the point that perhaps your opinion was based on the fact that you are negatively impacted by bootleg sales, seeing as you have a commision based business with Amazon. (clickable ads on your website).

Just an observation on my part. That's all

By the responses I can see that none of you has the slightest idea about film collecting. I've bought (legally) thousands of dollars worth of 16mm shows on film and paid to have them transferred to tape. I've also gotten many things transferred from 2-inch masters (cost: $100 an hour). You want I should just give those away for a 5th generation dub? In your dreams.

So you don't sell them I take it, why even mention you have them if you will provide no list? How would you ever expect to trade that way. Just list 10 of what you have and then 10 shows you would trade them for since you don't have the time to go through the 100,000 shows you claim to have. I am sure not every person lists every show they have so how would you know who has what? If you never trade and never show some sort of list how would you ever know if someone has something as rare as you have?

wow in one day its now gone from 3 rd generation , to the current 5th generation crap that we all have to offer

from my very limited experiences, film transfers are usualy dark and have tons of light sparkles, or white spots in them

i would only be willing to trade one of my 7th generation shows for any of those

further, just exactly how is it that a film or tape that was taken out of a tv station, all of a sudden become a legal copy

How incredibly mature of you.

I am not sure why you are all attacking Ben. There are plenty of people in the tape trading community who are only looking for specific programs, or specific quality programs. Not everyone has the time, the means, or the inclination to trade for things they do not need.

Well Bencasey said he was BIG TIME but don't have "On THE ROCKS" so I'm just having a little fun with it-lol Maybe I'm BIG TIME

Oh you guys, forget about this guy..that's nothing!!! NONE of you here have what I have! Oh No! My list is only a partial list for you folks here... But guess what? Did you know that I have collected over four (4) decades, EVERY SINGLE aired pilot and EVERY Televison shows, aired from the three (3) major Networks, ABC, CBS, and NBC, all from the 50's, 60's, 70', and 80's!! Oh, Yes! All Complete Episodes, Commercial free, on thousands and thousands of DVDs...it cost me a pretty penny too! But I don't sell or buy from anyone...because, well, that just isn't right...   Pristine sets too! But you can't have them anyway, because I don't want you to know what I have, but I'll gladly tell you from my list if you ask me what you want...in other words, if you want a show or episodes, I'll tell you if I have it, which I probably do, and if you want it, you can't get it..so there! :p :p :p

i dotn want any of your stuff either

ill be very picky who i send my 9 th generation shows to

no one attacked ben casey as of yet

he ran off at the mouth and some folks called him on it

i advised people to forget him and move along to someone who actualy wanted to trade

this is a trade area

ben casey should try this yahoo group

blowhardbraggers.yahoogroups.com

There is nothing wrong with 9th generation tape. Last night I watched 3 episodes of a 9th generation tape of f-troop. It was only during the 4th episode that I realized I was really watching I dream of Jeannie. Just knew that Sgt. O'Rourke looked kinda funny and I never saw his belly button before.

anyone here is taking pot shots at bencasey
it is just a little frustrating when u have a trader
send you emails or post questions to you, precise questions that require you to pull out discs and watch them and answer his questions
on many many many sets

and then u answer them and u ask the other party questions back
and u get no replies

i can understand if someone doesnt want to post a list
BUT if u expect someone to answer multiple questions for you, u should at least be expected to answer basic ones in return, such as DO YOU HAVE THIS SHOW

and when that doesnt happen, people get frustrated

its a waste of time and effort

i get one like this at least a couple times a week

anytime you spend a bunch of time on answering things, you should at least expect a two way street

a willingness to exchange at least info, if not shows

Lamont

To me, this is a dead giveaway that's it's complete B.S.! I don't think television has produced that many shows since the advent of the industry, do you? I could have that many, but it would take years. I could copy one show over and over again!
