View Full Version : Anyone else think the TVLAND AWARDS trophy is cheap looking?
Ireneparalegal 02-03-2006, 04:33 PM It looks like it is made out of plastic and so cheesy. I can't think that anyone who gets one really displays it in their house.
Also, making it look like a t.v. doesn't appeal to me either.
gilligan fanatic 02-03-2006, 04:38 PM I like it, I think it looks nice

ok. maybe i am the only one who thinks that way abt it.
spunkygirl 02-03-2006, 06:57 PM Nah I think it looks just right for the TV Land Awards :)
Johnny S 02-03-2006, 07:21 PM If this is the award you are thinking of then yes... I agree 100%. I would never display this in my house.

It is horrible. Look at that pic posted. It's hideous. Why not make it more classy?
spunkygirl 02-04-2006, 02:55 PM It's a TVLAND Award, it's not like it's an Oscar or anything ;)
Brian Damage 02-04-2006, 03:02 PM It does look sort of cheesy, but I'm sure they are investing all their money on providing us with quality programming.....and don't forget all the money they spend to cut that quality programming to pieces.

Only you could put that so well, thanx Brian. LOL
I mean, they get all those celebrities there at the awards. There must be something else they receive, because I wouldn't waste my time for that cheap looking thing. So why not make it classy? Why not have some crystal glass trophy? It doesn't have to be shaped like a t.v. either.
spunkygirl 02-04-2006, 10:08 PM Really the award isn't that bad considering the types of categories they have for the TVLAND Awards ;)

you are so right. which asks the question again...What on earth are they giving to these celebrities to make them appear? that trophy is bad, the categories are dumb. I have only seen the show one time. Never again.

I have seen all three. They get worse ever year. (Not counting the GI reunion on the second one ;) )

Agreed, definitely! I only watched the first one as well (I think it was the first one...the one when Carl Reiner, whom I've lost all respect for, talked the Dick van Dyke show cast into making that pathetic reunion show)... But you're right, the categories were totally stupid...and they'll nominate great performers who are now deceased, but they'll (usually) lose out to mediocre performers who, because they are still alive, can actually attend the ceremony...
One of many reasons TV Land is jumping the shark, but quick!

I agree. Personally, I think TV-Land gets worse every year (though it's still my favorite network).

Yep, same here. And now, with that THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, it has become lower than a snake!
