Did you know that the bald guy, Paul Mooney, guest starred in a season 6 episode of Good Times? I would have never ever known that if I wasn;t doing research on him this afternoon. He has AFRO in the episode he appeared in. He was the guy in the bar talking to J.J about the 2nd T.C.

Yes he was. He didn't seem so "flamboyant" then as he does now.

He use to be on Comic View all the time, some of his jokes are out there. I don't think he likes white people at all.

why is it that's ok to say, BUT if a person who was not black said: Blackie watches BET... that's not right for one to get away with something that another would be bashed for.

No one said that it was OK for him to say that. But look at Archie Bunker, that made it on TV.

But I understand what your talking about.

Nobody here on this board said it was ok, but as far as a larger scope, that is accepted. It is accepted because nothing came of it. No bad publicity, no editing out, nothing. In society, it is more acceptable for blacks to say things like that from the media. I see Irene's point, if a white man said "blacky" on a television show, he would be ostracized.

He sure would-lol That's the reason I didn't like the movie with Bernie Mac who was mad because his daughter was dating a white guy. Now can you imagine if a Whie Actor played a Father and was mad ast his Daughter for Dating a Black Guy? But I guess it was supposed to be FUNNY because it was Bernie Mac. I'm Black and wouldn't have a spent one dime to see that DUMB movie. Another Dumb Black Movie was WHITE Chicks by the ******** Wayans Brothers. Now can u imagine Two Whitwe men dressed up and acting like Black Women?-lol

Actually, that Bernie Mac movie was a remake of a 1960's movie called Guess who's coming to dinner and it was about a white girl who brought a black guy home. It starred Spencer Tracy and Sidney Poitier.
