He co-created Good Times, and made a cameo in that series in the Vita brite episode. I felt since he wrote the movie "Cooley High" which What's Happening is based on, it would have been appropriate to have him make a cameo. His growing up was similar to Raj, Rerun, and Dwayne. He could have played Raj's uncle or something.
