I have this thing abt Cameron Diaz. What is the big hoopla abt her? What is so damn special that I have to see her mug in so many movies? She is no Meryl Streep. I see nothing. I think she is overrated by far more than any actress today.

Goldie Hawn: I loved her in Private Benjamin, but that's it. I don't get it. I get so tired of the same ol' hair she has, her look never changes. Her acting ability is the same. She plays different characters but it's the same person it seems. I can't stand her.

For some reason, I get her mixed up with Scarlett Johansen. Another I would like to add to this list.

I know alot of people won't agree with me but I think Drew Barymore is overrated.

Reese Witherspoon. I'm sorry but she's not that great. The only reason she's up for an Oscar is because the movie is a Biopic about Johnny Cash.
Sarah Jessica Parker is another one that is overrated.

Tom Cruise has been in a handful of good movies, like Magnolia, Rain Man, Risky Business, Vanilla Sky... but I never understood the hype about why people think he's the best actor

Tom Hanks is a great guy, but I miss the fun Tom Hanks, instead of the stuffy serious "every movie is a bid at an Oscar" Tom Hanks we've had since Philadelphia and Forrest Gump came out. He's a great actor, but I miss the fun Tom of movies like Splash and Big.

I have to agree with you there. I miss the old Tom Hanks like in Bachelor Party too.

Well, no one really cares about his acting anymore, just his personal public, couch-jumping, I-devirginized-Katie Holmes life.

Matt Damon & Ben Affleck. Very annoying. Their acting is just plain and nothing special abt it. Why do they think that putting them in a movie is going to guarantee a hit?

And I'm one of them who disagrees with you on this one! She's my favorite actress.

I think Nicole Kidman is overrated, Lauren Bacall is right when she said Kidman is not a legend yet.

As actors go, imo Nicholas Cage is overrated.

I mostly agree with that. She's good, yes...but she's not the greatest thing ever like some people believe. I don't really think she deserved the Oscar. She also chooses the oddest roles sometimes.

I also find Ben Stiller to be incredibly overrated, and I know there's a bunch of fans here, but I don't get the Will Ferrell hype at all.

I agree about Will Ferrell, my dad saw Bewitched and even he said that Will is nothing more than a poor mans Jim Carrey, which he really is.

Ben Stiller used to be good, until he started playing the same role in every movie and doing 10 movies a year. It seemed like every other week in 2004, there was a new Ben Stiller movie. I have no idea how he did that.

That is exactly how I feel about Nicholas Cage. His early movie roles were so funny (Raising Arizona, Moonstruck, Wild At Heart for example)
They were fun movies! But I do realize that an actor has to grow up. It's just that I prefer the young Nicholas.:D

I agree too. Well, you can be "grown up" and be able to balance the fun movies with the serious ones... Jim Carrey's done a great job being able to do serious drama as well as not abandoning his roots in comedy.

I agree, I used to like Jamie on In Living Color way back when, but I swear to god, since Ray, he has become an egomaniac of the sort that even Paris Hilton, J-Lo, Michael Jackson and Will Smith are likely thinking "he seriously needs to get over himself" Whatever happened to the funny Jamie? he takes himself so seriously and it's kinda odd because he was a b-level comedian for so many years and then suddenly he takes two movies around the same time that gets critical acclaim, and suddenly he's got the "I'm gonna erect a statue of myself and float it on the river" style Michael Jackson ego.

by the way Jamie, you're pressing 40... you should be old enough to remember Don Johnson, Eddie Murphy and Bruce Willis' attempts at singing.... people like Hilary, Lindsey, Paris and Nicole are younger, so they can be forgiven (well, not really, lol).

Leonardo Dicaprio is definitely an overrated actor. If you ask me, he got lucky breaks, and he's not that great of an actor anyway. If it wasn't for Titanic, he would be forgotten about by now. Anybody could have played that role he played. He was much better as a supporting actor in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape"

I love me some Goldie Hawn, Irene.....well, I just like looking at her. LOL I loved her in Overboard especially when she was naked.

Well, looking at her, from your point of view is understandable, you are a man. But as far as an actress, she has nothing special to offer.

The same goes for her daughter Kate Hudson. All she is, is her mom, reincarnated all over again. It's really like watching young Goldie Hawn. *Irene yawns*

I totally disagree with those who chose Tom Hanks and Nicholas Cage, but to each his own.

The most overrated actor in Hollywood without a doubt, would have to be Keanu Reeves!! You could put him in a film with Pauly Shore, and Tom Green, and his acting ability still wouldn't stand out. Keanu Reeves SUCKS!!!

actually, Colin was sexy as hell about 3-4 years ago when he first came out... but he really blew it with all the drugging and boozing and lack-of-showering and it's really taken a toll on him.

Who knows tho... didn't Brad Pitt go through a drugging/boozing/no-showering phase where he was gross and yet he ended up okay at the end?

I totally disagree with those who chose Tom Hanks and Nicholas Cage, but to each his own.

well, with Hanks, it's not that he's a bad actor, but that he needs to drop being pretentious. He became a star in the first place by making "fun" movies like Splash, Big, Turner And Hooch, Sleepless In Seattle, Joe Vs. The Volcano, etc.. and then suddenly he took two roles straight that gave him Oscars and suddenly every movie he makes are serious and bids at Oscars instead of balancing out the award-worthy movies with the "this one is just a nice popcorn flick" movies. It was comedy that pretty much defined his entire first decade as a star, yet except You Got Mail and Ladykillers, he has done almost solely Oscar-bid drama roles for the past decade, I miss the fun Hanks and wish he'd come back sometimes.
