Allison, have you ever seen Moonlighting? I dunno what it is, but I can just see you being a fan of the show. I never watched it (it aired at 10 pm in the 80's, past my bedtime, and it ended in 1989) until I bought the DVD for season 1 & 2 and quickly became hooked. If you enjoy a nice detective program with a lot of humor added in and great romantic chemistry between the two leads (like Hunter, lol), I could see you just loving David and Maddie too.

My mom used to watch Moonlighting in the 80's and I know she liked it a lot so I just may have to check it out. Not at the moment, but it's definitely on my list. :D

None, although I would've loved to have said "Wings- Season One and Two.", as this was it's original release date pick.

yep, Moonlighting at it's prime is one of the best series I've ever watched, but it all goes downhill with the beginning of season 4 from what I've heard, and the last two seasons were apparently painful to watch, but I definately will check season 3 out because I think it's brilliantly scripted, well-written and Bruce and Cybill together were wonderful. There were actually really short seasons for the show because a lot of the episodes have so much going on that it was two episodes rolled into one, I watched all of seasons 1&2 and never got bored once. You could tell that big things were in store for Bruce Willis

I'll stick to just Grounded For Life.

I used to have a couple Survivor sets, but decided to abandon that show because it is at 12(?) seasons, with two more being produced each year, and no end in sight. To me that is WAY too many Survivor DVD's as it's not even one of my top shows.

I voted for Growing Pains (Complete First Season) and the two I have already: Survivor: Pearl Islands (Complete Seventh Season) and (Season Three - Vol. 1)

Yes, the 12th edition begins tonight.

^ Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I'll watch this one. The last one I watched was All Stars (Season 8 if I'm not mistaken) Hopefully the whole "Exile Island" thing is better than Fear Factor's "Pschyo House".

I would like to get Growing Pains but I'm saving up my money for other TV-DVD sets. If the price is right, maybe I'l get GP: S1 down the road.

I just got the Electric Company- I grew up on the show. Rita Moreno introduces each episode on the DVD plus a interview with her and June Angela and bloopers.

Can you describe it more? I'm thinking of picking that up.

Sure,
It is a 4 disc set. It contains some episodes from each of the seasons, complete with original opening and closing credits and the old PBS logo of the 70s with the syntheisizer. Rita Moreno introduces each episode, at the end-after each credit they give you a little somethinh you did not know so keep it running after the PBS logo. They have all the favorite skits such as Fargo, Paul, J. Arthur Crank and letterman.

even if I liked Growing Pains (personally, I can't believe the Family Ties ripoff made DVD before the real deal), I would be hesitant to buy it because Warner has pretty much let it be known they are not reliable with sitcoms unless it's as played out as Friends, Fresh Prince or Full House, I trust them much better handling drama shows, I am already anticipating Supernatural Season 1 from them and it hasn't even been announced yet, and I'm sure we'll see season 3 of One Tree Hill later this year too, either if the show makes a season 4 or not. But with sitcoms, Warner has proven to be the pits and I am crossing my fingers that seasons 1 and 2 of Mama's Family are released together so if Warner drops the ball on the series (and you know they will), at least all the NBC episodes will be out.

Am I the ONLY one who doesn't see GP as a Family Ties rip off? Sure they had similarities, but Mike was nothing like Alex, Carol was nothing like Mallory, Ben was nothing like Jennifer, Steven and Elyse were nothing like Maggie and Jason.

Yeah I agree though, I'm afraid we won't get all seasons of GP released :(

I'm not sure that Family Ties and Growing Pains are really that much alike with the exception that they had the same number of characters and that a baby was born in the later seasons of both shows. As Angela pointed out, the charaters were really nothing alike. I do agree with you on the fact that Family Ties was the far better show, though.

The only one that I bought was Hearts Afire Season 3.
