i heard that last year pearl (helen martin)died. if she did what was the cause of her death and how old was she?

Yes. She died last year at the age of 90 on March 25, 2000. She passed over of a heart attack. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif

Helen Martin (Pearl) was a wonderful woman. I was fortunate enough to meet her in 1989, and we remained friends for 10 years. She had an energy unlike anyone else I've ever met. A very cool woman, indeed. I'll always remember Helen with great fondness and delight, and have shared many of the stories she shared with me over the years with my friends and family. She still brings a smile to my face (and theirs). Her nickname for me was "Boobie." Helen - your Boobie misses you. God bless.

I hadn't heard this. Pearl was always my favorite character on the show. I can still see her sitting at her window looking out on the street, ready to gossip!!! :)

That's sad ... I like her on 227 and Good times. she will be miss:(

Yeah i found out she died too. She was in the movies Don't Be A Menace To South Central with the Wayans Bros & she was in Master P's I Got The Hook Up. Wasn't she in Master P's I'm Bout It movie?
