If you have one...

I met my husband at work. We worked together for a year before we dated. We were both in other troubled relationships. I'd split with my guy...he'd split with his girl, but it wasn't happening at the same time.

We had crushes on each other. We'd kid how we'd be good together if we were unattached.

Then it happened, we both found ourselves single.

My only regret is that when we were just friends, I used to tell him so much about my love life or whatever. He still jokes about it today.

I met my husband through an online dating service. I wasn't meeting the kind of guy I wanted the traditional way so I turned to the internet as a last resort and I'm glad I did.

I was 17 and I was working in a small town grocery store. Actually I knew his parents who owned the local hardware store in town. But being that he was almost 7 years older than I was, our paths never crossed. We both attended the same school at the same time (K- 12; it was a VERY small town) I was in the 5th grade when he graduated. Well, to make a long story short, he dated my best friend first. We became a couple later on and married the same year.(1968).

My wife was dating my friend at the time that we met. In the beginning, we hated each other. Eventually, I found out that it was an abusive relationship and I stepped in and helped her out. We became friends and gradually, we both started to be attracted to one another. We had an affair for a couple of months and eventually we started dating.

I didn't think it was possible to meet someone and get serious with them off the computer since you have so many people to choose from. What is it like 6, 000 Photos?

Which site did you use? I met my boyfriend through an online dating service too. He's everything I could want. In August he's moving with me up to MI.

Granted he's not technically my "mate" yet, but I think we have an interesting story, so I thought I'd tell it.

I met my boyfriend when I was 13 years old. He played junior high football at my high school's rival (we both go to small 1-A's, where junior and high school are combined). His cousin was on my cheerleading squad, and he asked her about me, so I told her that I would agree to meet him when basketball season rolled around and we played his school again. So basketball came, and sure enough he was there at the game ready to meet me. Okay, remember that I told you we were both 13? Okay, do you remember what you looked like at 13? Is that not the most awkward age ever? Well, needless to say, he was beyond awkward looking. He had dark/greasy hair, big buck teeth, and was about 5'8 and 100lbs. He had to have been one of the strangest looking boys I had ever met. So, as you might guess, I was not excited at all. I pretty much spent the whole night ignoring him and doing my best to get away from him.

Well, little did I know then just how hard headed this guy was. Despite my mean behavior to him, he continued to call me for the next 3 years, and everytime he would call I would either hang up on him immediately or make up some excuse why I had to go within 5 minutes of the conversation. He would always call around my birthday, and always be really super nice to me, even though I was a flat out jerk to him. But for some reason, I just couldn't make myself see the good qualities in him.

Finally about a year ago, the tables turned on things. All those years I had spent pushing him away came back to haunt me. I realized that I liked him, but he was with someone else. Luckily, his cousin (the one who introduced us in the first place) came back to rescue me. She talked him into calling me, and we have been together ever since. And what's even scarier is, I think he might be the one....which makes it even more ironic that I spent so many years pushing him away.

OMG! I had a date like that in 10th grade! It was a blind date. A mutual friend had a picture of me and some guy friend of hers thought I was cute so he asked if she could set us up. I didn't want to be mean, so I said yes even though I wasn't the least bit interested. We went to the Homecoming dance, where I disappeared for hours at a time. lol I was so mean to him.
