i had a chance to pick up the second season today at ol' Wally world. "remember, we sell for less everyday" LOL!

anyways..........

withOUT a doubt the funniest out of the bunch had to of been "the birds and the bees" episode. where arnold was trying to figure out where babies came from. i don't think i stopped laughing from start to finish.

season 2 seemed to have better character development then season 1. the family had to deal with the normal growing pains in every day life. racial issues, sexual issues, adoption the works..........

when i was watching the show at 7 years old during its original air dates i thought gary coleman was the funniest little dude on tv. now viewing it from an adult perspective, i can realy appreciate how good and talented he was (is) not just what a person says makes him (her) funny. its how the comedy is presented. i swear his body language gets just as many laughs as what his dialogue was.

anyways......ONLY "TWO" MINOR dis-apointments regarding the season 2 dvd set. being a videographer by trade im EXTREMELY PICKY so you may have to bare with me. first dis-apointment was the lack of extra. im sure we can all agree with that? dvd's are made to have TONS of extras! lastly is picture quality. probably the SAME grade as the season 1 release. don't get me wrong, excellent to view giving the age of the source material, however im sure they could have tweeked to to make the images slightly more crisper.

conversly, if you watch the opening credits of any epiosode. just as the opening credits are about to fade out and you see the family walking into the front of the building. a few sharp eyes may spot what looks like degrasion that can be seen within the light fixture hanging from the celing. to most reading this board that is an extremely PICKY flaw to point out i know. perfectly visible on any plasma display. with smaller screens, such flaws are harder to pick out.

guess what im sayiing in a nutshell is, if sony wanted to then im sure they could have improved the picture of the release. again, don't get me wrong. faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better then any bootleg dvd version you may find on ebay.

all in in all, im HAPPY, but NOT 100% satisfied with the season 2 release. heck...........if we were always 100% satisfied what fun would that be? always room to improve

hope you all liked the set:wave:

That's where I got it from. I'm a third of the way through the set. So far I prefer season 1 over season 2, if I have to compare. The Feudin' and Fussin' episode really kinda bored me.

As wealthy as Drummond was, it seems like he didn't spend much on Willis' clothes. I've seen him wearing that same horizontal striped red, green and blue Izod shirt a few times too many in season 2.

I need you to give me a detailed explanation as to why season 1 is better than 2-lol I'm stunned you said something like that

When I posted that it was just through the first 8 episodes, notice in that post I said so far. The Hello Larry episode brought it down. Now I've watched 22 episodes and I've enjoyed them a lot. I knew it would get better as the season went along. It was just the first few season 2 episodes weren't doing it for me.

I really hope there's a shorter wait between seasons 2 and 3, season 3 is when the show enters its prime IMO. So many classic episodes between seasons 3-6, but having 2 seasons is much better than one, especially when the first season of Diff'rent Strokes was rather lackluster compared to the rest, season 2 has some great episodes.
