View Full Version : Would You Break Up With A Guy...
because of the TV show he liked?
Today's NY Post had an article ("You Blew It! - Jan 31 edition) discussing some things men do to ruin a perfectly good date.
They had a few creepy anecdotes from women about some of the crazy things guys have done that turned them off - Guys slept with a stuffed animal, guy rummaging through her stuff in the middle of the night- some of them are real horror stories, but one woman broke up with a guy because he loved "The Drew Carey Show."
Granted, "Drew Carey" wasn't exactly four star Television, but don't you think it's a bit much to dump some guy only becasue of his TV choices?
Would that be a deal breaker for you?
Polniaczek033 01-31-2006, 10:28 PM no, but i would break up with him if he wore sneakers.
:grr:
Ireneparalegal 01-31-2006, 10:28 PM Of course! I love Drew Carey. And she broke up with him because of that???? Does she wear sneakers or high heels????

I bet these days, that guy is out on the streets, selling his blood multiple times a week just to make ends meet.
Oh yeah. I went there again.
Courtnee 01-31-2006, 11:57 PM no, but i would break up with him if he wore sneakers.

swedeace 02-01-2006, 10:16 AM no, but i would break up with him if he wore sneakers.
:grr:
 I was going to bring that up as well. It was one of the first things I thought of when I read this thread's title.....
guy rummaging through her stuff in the middle of the night
Out the above list, this one would seem more of the most normal excuses. So my answer would be "no" for the TV show. That's an odd reason. It's, like, who cares? It's just a TV show. And we are all entitled look like whatever show we like...period.
MsOrange 02-01-2006, 12:15 PM I don;t if anyone of you realize this but sneakers LOOKS a lot better on Males than females. It's a masculine type of footwear
wrong thread
TVFactFan 02-01-2006, 12:17 PM wrong thread
Oh damm it was the wrong thread-lol How did I do that?
TVFactFan 02-01-2006, 12:19 PM wrong thread
Wait it wasn;t the wrong thread, some people mention the topic I started yesterday by saying they would break up with a guy if he wore sneakers. And I was saying guys are supposed to wear sneakers.
Chain Gang Member 02-01-2006, 12:19 PM That's stupid to break up with someone because of what they watch.I wouldn't break up with a girl just because she doesn't like wrestling. You gotta accept their dislikes if you want to have a real relationship. If you always had everything in common, that would be boring.Wouldn't you think?

Right On Chain Gang, I hear that. That's what makes relationships with different tastes kinda fun and interesting; having two people who have different likes and tastes and sharing those with the one you love. I love Survivor, my man didn't understand why. Then when I explained to him the show and the game, he started watching it, and now, WHAM! he is a huge Survivor fan. Same goes with hobbies or interests. I have become interested in shopping at antique stores, something I never even thought of, until my man took me one time. It's fun to open your eyes and your horizons.
G-Force Glockstar 02-01-2006, 04:53 PM Heck no! That would be really weird to break up with someone just because of something they liked or disliked!
~*Hannah_Lee*~ 02-01-2006, 08:22 PM Gah, that's got to be the stupidest reason I've ever heard for breaking up with someone.
*MIBabe03* 02-01-2006, 08:30 PM Yeah, that's a BS answer for breaking up. Talk about not telling the truth. I hate it when people do that, if you don't want to go out anymore, just break it off. Don't make stupid excuses.
Janice 02-01-2006, 08:31 PM Drew Carey would be fine, but if he got into Keith "Moonbat" Olberman, Bill Maher or one of those types, all bets are off.

that's what we like to call sarcasm.
:)
I just wrote a letter to the New York Post expressing my disbelief that a woman would break up with someone over such a trivial thing.
I hope they print it!
