With Felicity Huffman's nomination I'm wondering about other actors who have been nominated or won Academy Awards while starring on hit television shows. Anyone know?

This doesn't happen everyday which makes it very interesting.

I believe that Phylis on Mary Tyler Moore won one.

Helen Hunt won Best Actress for As Good As It Gets in 98, when Mad About You was still on.

Agnes Moorehead was on Bewitched (1964) when she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for "Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte" (1964)

Goldie Hawn was on Laugh-In (1968-70) when she won Best Supporting Actress for "Cactus Flower" (1969)

Louis Gossett, Jr. was on The Powers of Matthew Star (1982) when he won Best Supporting Actor for "An Officer and A Gentleman" (1982)

Denzel Washington was on St. Elswhere (1982-1988) when he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for "Cry Freedom" (1987)
