I found this interesting article that talks a little about Betty Cash and the incident with the mysterious aircraft. I thought it was pretty chilling that Betty passed away on the 18th anniversary of the incident.

Oh my gosh!!!! This is one of the strangest UFO cases I've seen on UM! And considering it happened close to where I live is creepy!!!!!

I had no idea Betty passed away! :(

I remember this story & felt so sorry for all 3 not getting help at all from the government. Kinda eery she died on the same date as this event took place.

I think Betty Cash was right in saying that the military knew something about it. How else could you explain all those helicopters that followed the UFO. Where'd they all come from? And who else could send them.

The tone in Robert Stack's voice in the closing statement of that segment is freaky, especially when he says, "Betty Cash disagrees, Cash believes that the military knows exactly what happened that night."

BTW, When did this segment originally air? Because I understand that she died in December 1998.

An interesting coincidence is that this UFO sighting occurred within days of the Bentwaters UFO sighting.

a tragic and deeply disturbing case-the military treated Betty and her family in a disgraceful manner, but then again, they were in a very tough spot-by paying compensation, they'd be admitting to some secret craft they'd been working on-or alternatively, admitting to the existance of UFOS-(clearly , they were persuing something that night they knew existed, whether of man made or extra-terrestrial origin) and there was never a chance of them admitting to either-if there was ever a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, it's this one.

I thought you guys might be interested to know that someone recently posted on the other board that knows the boy featured in this segment. He said he's in his 30's now and refuses to speak about the incident with anyone and gets very upset if anyone tries to bring it up.

Huh. Thanks for the info, CD.

This story always made me sick. It's obvious that SOMETHING happened to these poor people and it sure seems the government either did it, or went out of their way to not help them. I just feel so bad they went through all that and never got the help or justice they deserved. How could you fake something like that?!?

I agree. anything that the government considers confidential or beyond will not be discussed by any means.
I'm one who believes there is an explination for such occurances......yet most go unexplained which makes them interesting. this situation was a bad one. and yes that is very strange that she passed on the same date. very sad too.

That's quite understandable being that a) the boy was only 6(?) at the time and just viewing/witnessing the whole thing prolly scared him half to death, b) it made him deathly sick and c) it ultimately killed his grandmother's friend

From what TV.com says the segment aired on 2-6-91 which seems about right.
