It is called Battle Royale
Here is a little synopsis:
Battle Royale, a film by the veteran Japanese director Kinji Fukasaku, tells the story of a dystopic future in which each year, a randomly-selected 9th grade class is kidnapped and sent to a deserted island where they are equipped with weapons and are forced to kill each other until one survivor is left.
Sounds interesting.
I can't wait until the crappy American remake starring some teen star I hate comes out.

We did a spoof of that in leadership class! :D I really can't stand ultra-violent movies though and I know how them directors from Asia do it! Looks cool though.

I don't think you'll be dissappointed. The violence at times may seem over the top, but all in all I was engrossed in the picture.

Brian, isn't that the schoolgirl from Kill Bill in one of those pics from the movie? She's holding a knife and wearing a yellow shirt.

Yes, her name is Chiaki Kuriyama, that's how Tarantino discovered her, from seeing this movie.
