The year of 1976, boy have the times changed. I wonder how much that increased by time 1985 came around.

View Full Version : In the Pilot, there was a special on the wall-"Bacon and Eggs for a $1.00"-lol TVFactFan 01-29-2006, 03:06 PM The year of 1976, boy have the times changed. I know they mentioned Mel's coffee went up to 35 cents in 1978-lol TVFactFan 01-29-2006, 03:13 PM Probably ALOT. I know they mentioned Mel's coffee went up to 35 cents in 1978- lol Something else I noticed Diferent from the pilot is there was actually no open area when u looked out the window. In the pilot when u looked out the window u saw no open area, just a building across the street. seventies_sitcoms 01-29-2006, 03:17 PM Wasn't the restaurant all decorated in Southwestern/cowboy motif in the pilot, or was it like that throughout the first season too? JeffRuss1972 01-29-2006, 03:19 PM Yeah, I noticed that too. There was also no STOREROOM. The backdoor just led outside, I guess. That was probably just a temporary set because I remember reading they didn't know if the pilot would do well or not. The second ep didn't air until a MONTH later-lol TVFactFan 01-29-2006, 03:27 PM I still think Flo should have been in the Finale JeffRuss1972 01-29-2006, 03:52 PM Definitely. I wish they would've mentioned her by name at least ONCE after she left in 1980. At least they showed clips with her. They didn't even show 1 clip with Belle-lol. JeffRuss1972 01-29-2006, 03:55 PM Wasn't the restaurant all decorated in Southwestern/cowboy motif in the pilot, or was it like that throughout the first season too? Yeah, the cowboy/SouthWestern look stayed in the first season (76-77), after that it got a little more modern(77-78) and then it ended up the way we remembered it for the rest of the series(78-85). BUT, in the first PILOT episode, the diner looked like a 50s style, with white booths and everything. Very old style-lol |
