How can they expect to have a large loyal fanbase when they air reruns throughout the season. Does anyone know why they do this? Thanks!

They're working all day from Mon straight through Saturday writing and rehearsing. They usually do about three live episodes and then one or two reruns. In fact, I can't remember the last time they did three shows back-to-back. The only time I can remember that happening was during the '70s. During the show's first five years, they would air reruns from previous seasons during the breaks between live shows, which was a great way to get caught up on older shows if you were a new viewer. It still is an unusual occurence, though. SNL seasons typically only have 20 episodes now, spread out over Oct-May and they usually run in two-episode cycles. Of course, they took a month off after the December episodes. Must be tough working three weeks a month.:rolleyes: |
