I wanted to ask everybody on here where do you work. I have 2 jobs as a janitor. I'm just so glad i finally got a full time job because i've never had a full time job. The job i have now, i don't really like it because it's boring but i'm just glad i got a job with health benefits and dental discount coverage. I wanna get a job making some real money. For the people on here who've read my topic about my mental problem, i hope you sympathize with me and pray for me because i wanna do better than what i'm doing. Hopefully one day i'll get a real job.

I work in the mailroom of a law firm. I do internal and external delivering for lawyers. Go to a temp agency, Isiah, you will be surprised what they can find for people.

I work at a small family owned grocery store/deli. It's not much, but it's a decent part-time job with flexible hours while I go to school. I'm hoping to leave soon, though.

Well, I used to work in retail for about 7 months, in a store where we sold all kinds of clothing from Abercrombie, AE, Hollister, etc.

Eventually, that starting to really wear me down because I was one of the most consistent workers, and I'd end up doing 12-13 hour shifts a couple of days a week, and just felt underappreciated.

So now, I'm back in school until May, to become a massage therapist. After my girlfriend and I move in together and get married in the Fall, I'll be doing that and also still going to school, and I eventually want to be a Psychologist or at least something in that field.

I work at a movie theater on Fridays and Saturdays, but I'll be gone in two weeks. I'm trying to get another job at a book or video store. It seems so much easier.

You only work once a week? Wow. GarfieldKool i signed up with a bunch of temporary agencies a long time ago and i only got hired once at a job through a temporary agency. I don't like temporary agencies because they try to keep you a temp as long as they can so the job they send you to most likely won't hire you so they can keep you from getting health and dental benefits because that saves the job money. My best friend right now is trying to get a job through a temp agency and he hasn't gotten a call in months. I told him to stop signing up with temp agencies and try to get a job without going through a temp agency but he won't listen.

Worked at CVS for a year, then Hollister for a few months. Quit both. I can't handle working retail. I'm a full time student, so I don't have much time. I'm going to try and look for some kind of part time job, but I dont know where is flexible and not retail.

I know what you mean about some temp agencies. I worked through one years ago and they sent me to a spaghetti sauce warehouse. They treated us like slaves. We wore hard hats and goggles and racist italians ran it, and they didn't treat the workers right.

But some agencies find people good jobs. In my city, Kodak and Baush and Lomb are big maufacturers based here. They have a lot of plants located here as well. I know quite a few people who have got jobs like those through agencies. Those jobs pay good money. Even working as a janitor at kodak, you can be comfortable.

Solomon how come you don't like your job? Is it because of the convicts you deal with trying to help them find a job? LOL. GarfieldKool i worked at a factory that makes car cleaning products, stuff that you use to wash your car with. They paid me $5.15 a hour and the supervisors worked the employees like slaves. I promised myself i would never again work for a salary like that and i will never take a job doing hard labor again. Then i worked at another factory job that makes kitchenware products like cooking pans. I was making $5.15 a hour there also. That job wasn't as bad as the car cleaning products factory job but i still didn't like the salary i was getting. I don't understand how jobs can pay people $5.15 a hour when they know damn well people can't live off of that. There's temp agencies that pay people everyday but those temp agencies only give the workers like $50 or $40 a day depending on how much the job is paying. What can a person do with $50 a day? Poor people that work at temp agencies like that will take that money and spend it on cigarettes and beer instead of spending it on food. I hate jobs that take advantage of workers by paying them a low salary and workin them like slaves.

I drive an 18-wheeler. That's why I'm not on SO as much, I'm on the road most of the time. I work for a company out of South Dakota, but I live in Fla. I wouldn't be able to endure the SD winters. We have a terminal near Orlando that I leave my truck at when I go home. I know alot of people see truck drivers as trashy. They can think what they want. All I know is I make really good money, I get paid to see the country, I can bring my dogs with me, I can pretty much keep my own schedule as long as I get my loads delivered on time, and I don't see my boss for weeks at a time. You can't say that about too many other jobs.

By the way, I know this may sound weird, but if I know where you live, even though I never met you and don't know what you look like, if I'm in your area, for some reason I can't help but think of you. I'm always in the Chicago area and I think of rusyd, in the Boston area, I think of Janice, going through Louisville, KY, I think of Hung Up!
