I was going to post the lyrics to "Send in the Clowns" here, because I've always thought it was a reverent tribute to funny people. I thought it would be an appropriate dedication to John and his work. But after reading the lyrics I saw a different meaning. Nothing at all like that.

It's still a beautiful song, though. I tried. :)
