View Full Version : Guiltiest Guilty Pleasures
Chad Michael Murray 01-26-2006, 06:58 PM This is a thread that's been going on another forum I visit, and I thought it'd be really fun here if everybody posted their most guilty, most scandalous (well, maybe not only scandalous) guilty pleasures of all time. The things that either you're too embarassed to admit, consider too private to tell the general public, or just something you do but don't really care to share with those around you.
Here are some of mine:
-Checking myself out in the mirror and thinking that, if I was another person, I'd totally do me.
-Doing some all out, bust-a-move, 'dance like nobody's looking' dancing...when nobody's looking
-TV shows on the Disney Channel
I'll think of more and list them later.
So...what are yours? ;)
Dean Winchester 01-26-2006, 07:02 PM well, I love bad movies, the crappier, the better, LOL.
currently, I consider One Tree Hill a guilty pleasure because I've gotten into it lately even though just about everyone I know hates it, and the only person I know who does like it likes it for Chad and James only.
music, I have no real guilty pleasures because I like what I like and if it's crap to someone else, oh well.
lockdown06 01-26-2006, 07:13 PM Jim Beam, Bud Light, Grizzly Tobacco, and Swisher Sweets.
Chad Michael Murray 01-26-2006, 07:31 PM Here's another:
-Watching informercials for exercise machines (like the Bow Flex or something) just because I know there are always hot guys and girls in them.
Courtnee 01-26-2006, 08:22 PM Christina Aguliera
American Idol

PZelda 01-27-2006, 12:11 AM well, I love bad movies, the crappier, the better, LOL.
I'm the same way. Only it has to be movies made in the 1980s. The cheesier, the better. I have some pretty obscure movies in my collection too. I enjoyed every last one of 'em. ;)
My guilty pleasures? Oh man, oh man. One of the top guilty pleasures of mine is Full House. I vaguely remember when it debuted in '87 and I watched it pretty regularly until it ended in '95. Guess what? I just kept on watching the reruns. Still watch the reruns today. FH is the best worst show ever. :o  It is soooooo sappy...God, I just love that stupid show.
And apparently my mom thinks Michael Landon's work was cheesy too but dammit, I LOVE Little House and I LOVE Highway to Heaven! :biglove:
Chad Michael Murray 01-27-2006, 12:29 AM Okay, so, after viewing tonight's Smallville episode, I have another guilty pleasure...it's not so 'pleasureable', but it's not something I'd parade around to everybody, either. *Possible Spoiler if you haven't seen tonight's episode*
-Okay, so, I'm a very, VERY empathetic person, meaning that I can essentially put myself in anybody's shoes and feel the emotions they feel, which includes characters in my favorite movies or TV shows. So, I've been a Clark and Lana supporter all the way. Tonight, not only did Clark tell her his 'secret', he also proposed to her, and it was a very happy 15 minutes. Then...she DIED in a horrible car wreck! :( Just the whole situation and scenario had me BAWLING, man. Anyway, Clark got another shot, blah blah blah, and Lana lived but now she doesn't know his secret and they aren't engaged. THEN, Clark's father dies at the end of heart failure! :( I can say that it was the most emotional hour of TV I've ever experienced. So yeah, what I'm saying is, I wouldn't exactly go make it public knowledge that, not only did I cry over a television show, but I cried like it was my own family who died.
Dean Winchester 01-27-2006, 12:39 AM damn... just when John Schneider was finally being able to be known for a role besides Bo Duke
Bootsy Whoosh 01-27-2006, 01:51 AM So yeah, what I'm saying is, I wouldn't exactly go make it public knowledge that, not only did I cry over a television show, but I cried like it was my own family who died.
I'm the same way. I cry at TV (and movies) all the time. Bawling too. I cry at some commercials. I also tear up sometimes when I hear sirens going, because I know that somewhere someone's house might be burning down, or they might be really hurt or dying....
Facts of Life used to be a guilty pleasure of mine but I got over hiding that awhile ago.
Getting Don Pablo's cheesy dip for takeout and just eating that with tortillas for a whole meal is a guilty pleasure. I mean come on people, I'm eating frickin' cheese for a meal! And I'm horribly addicted. Although I've done it so much that I think I am actually starting to get sick of it....
That's all I can think of for now. I'm actually a pretty open person and as I get older I realize that my friends and family will still like me anyways despite any strangeness, and if they don't well then they can get over it cause it's not my problem. You gotta be true to yourself. And knowing is half the battle.

Let's see, this week alone I've cried at Criminal Minds and Without a Trace, and last week Cold Case. I cry at TV all the time.
