Does anyone know for sure if the five Avengers that were lost over the "Bermuda Triangle" in the mid-forties were ever found? Last night I was having a conversation with a couple Bahamians and they were adament about the fact that some wreckage was found just off the east coast of Florida.

It seems to me UM did do a segment on the Bermuda Triangle and mentioned the disappearance of the Avengers, but I can't remember much else. I am not in a capacity to watch my video of the segment, and I'm too lazy to do the reasearch.

Can anyone just confirm or deny that wreckage was found?

Thanks.

Maybe this was what your friends were referring to. (I found it at the bottom of an article):

Where is Flight 19 now? Well, in 1991 five Avengers were found in 600 feet of water off the coast of Florida by the salvage ship Deep Sea. Examination of the planes showed that they were not Flight 19, however, so the final resting place of the planes, and their crews is still the Bermuda Triangle's secret.

That was one of the most bizarre mysteries of all, that exactly 5 avengers were found in the same area, yet somehow they weren't the same ones. I would have flunked the probability assessment on that one.

In fact, for years I was expecting a correction, that maybe the original 5 serial numbers of the planes had been logged incorrectly, but it never came.
