well i've only been here since 2004, but for me...

2004 > 2005

summer of 2003, that was the best on randoms with all the parties and all them guys, some of who are seldom around or not at all anymore. Argh. :(

I signed up here in 2001 and I would say the next 2 years were the best because as a "newbie" I became acquainted and familiar with the members of SOl. It was so new to me then! I really enjoyed the conversation and threads then( Nancy McKeon was THE hot topic then.):lol: Like anything else in life, the newness wears off. But I still visit here everyday just to keep up with things. But lately I haven't posted as much as usual because I really do have a life outside of SOl!:lol: Anyway, I still love all of you guys!:D

Summer of 2003 was really good.... back when I spent most of it on the Cheers board.

Aw, that's when I began posting there. I loved it.

Definitely 2005. I wasn't really able to be myself in my first 3 years here, and last year I was able to really open up alot, and be myself, and not worry about what other people thought of me. Also, I made more friends in 2005 alone, then I had made in my previous 3 years put together. It was also nice not seeing people argue, bitch, and moan like they seemed to always do back in previous years.

That year I killed a newbie with sarcasm.

What a fun year that was.

This thread is brought up every year at some point, and people always say that the previous year was the worse. :lol: Three years from now, people will be saying how great things were back in 2005, guaranteed. I guess that's just the way the human mind works, everything recent sucks. LOL!!

2003 easily. I had so much fun. 2004 pretty much sucked and although 2005 was better it never compares with 2003.

no, i know i wont. 2005 was boring. there was no drama like there was in 2004. early 2005 was good, but the summer was BORING.

i think 2005 mainly sucked because a lot of the people from 2003-2004 left the boards.

what SO REALLY needs is more 10-11 year olds to come on the boards, whine, complain that everyone is so mean to start drama, like I did when i first joined :D

That's one of the main reasons I didn't like the boards so much at that time, and pretty much stuck to the tv show boards. It's weird, because everybody always complained about all the whiny little kids that were so sensitive about everything, and now many of those same people want it back that way. Go figure. :confused:

Anyways, back to the original subject, aside from 2005, I also liked my first year in 2002, when I mostly just posted on the D.S., and FT boards. Those boards were much more active back then.

anyway it wasnt just the fighting that made 2004 so awesome here. there was just a different feel to SO that was gone in 2005. in 2004 i had a lot of good friends here, the random board rocked big time, there were a lot of interesting topics...it was just...better. also i was a regular at the WTB? board where i had a lot of friends and went there regularly. now the WTB? is dead and all of the people who posted there before are gone. thats why summer of 2004 was my favorite time period...i had random board friends, chit chat friends, and WTB? board friends. 2005 was good, but it was very very different from 2004. most of the pre-2005 members will probably agree with me that there was just something different about the pre-2005 years.

the reason i didnt like 2005 as much is because over half of the people i talked to in 2004 were gone. the random board has gotten better since summer of 2005 (that was when it was at its worst for me) but its still not the same. 2006 is shaping up to be better random-wise but still nothing like 2004.

chit chat wise, its the same as 2005.

though, late 2005 was really good and almost as fun as 2004. i was gaining more friends on Random and Chit Chat and it was probably my 2nd-3rd favorite time period here.

mid-2005 was the worst. i only had like 2 friends here.

2006 is shaping up to be a better year then 2005 was though. the random boards are a lot better then they were in spring/summer of 2005.

I agree with you...again!

I have enough things going on in life, some good and some not so good, to give me my drama and goals to attain or whatever you want to refer to it as.

The reason I love SO is because, with some good natured ribbing of course, everybody here seems to get along great, and the purpose of this place seems to be purely to have fun. I enjoy being able to come here and joke around and know everybody else is just doing the same thing.
